Sparkling Roses

Oh how I LOVE SCS color challenges. It gets me stamping without having to think too much. That is a GREAT thing! LOL Today, the colors were taken with teal, night of navy and a neutral (I chose whisper white). I had the stamp set, Roses in Winter out on my stamp table this morning, so I went with that set. It was a quick card that I glitzed up with some glitter and iridescent ice embossing powder. The background is stamped in versamark with cheesecloth background stamp and then embossed in iridescent ice embossing powder. The center portion of the roses are outlined with my quickie glue pen and then dusted with dazzling diamonds glitter. The ribbon is fed through a slit cut in the white panel and then is wrapped around the focal panel and tied on the right hand side. The entire front panel is mounted using mounting tape. I prefer to mount the panel in this manner when I have used lots of ribbon. It helps it to stick and does not reveal and "bumpiness" underneath. Thanks to Emily Giovanni for posting the color challenges each Tuesday. To check out all the color challenges on SCS, click here:

Primas have arrived!

The first shipment of Prima flowers have arrived! :) They are SO pretty! I ordered the first wave of Primas after receiving Paypal payments. I placed a second Prima order 4-5 days later as checks started coming in. I will be placing another order in the next day or two as more checks arrive. This system allows me to have a quicker turnaround time. I know you are excited to get your flowers, so I do everything I can to facilitate that! :)
The first picture is all the boxes that came today. The second picture is daisies that have been sorted and bagged. The third picture shows the contents of one tube. I empty the entire tube out and make 4 even looking piles. I can also move flowers around if there is a high concentration of one color in a pile. NO, I am not going to count every flower! LOL I am patient and hard working, but I have to draw the line somewhere! LOL
The Primas arrived this evening and I have been hard at work separating and bagging them all evening and night. I should begin shipping them in the next day or two. I will continue sorting and packaging as I receive future shipments of Prima flowers.
I have opened back up one of the Prima share options and have extended the deadline. I now have three options still available. If you did not get in on the share yet, feel free to join. I will leave the share open until Feb. 15th. For more info and details, please read this post: http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/2007/01/prima-share-details.html

Oooh Ahhhh Shimmery White Paper!

I just wanted to pass on this share to you all. A friend of mine is doing a shimmery white card stock share. This is the exact same shimmery white as Stampin' Up, but WAY cheaper (1/3 the cost). Here is the link if you want to check it out:

DONE!

I am back from the post office. All December, January, and striped have been shipped! Watch for your boxes in the next 2-3 days! YAY! I am looking forward to hearing from you all that you have received the ribbon!

Have a great day!

Today is THE day!

Hi everyone! :) As you know I have been waiting for the last of the striped ribbon to arrive. Unfortunately I received a phone call this morning from the company letting me know that 1 color of the striped ribbon is on back order from the manufacturer and will be 6-8 weeks before they will get it in. I attempted to once again pay extra to have it up sized to the 5/8 inch, but they are also out of that. Since I chose all the colors of striped ribbon, I was out of options. I have decided to mail out all the packages today without the lavender striped ribbon. I do not want to keep you waiting. I know you are excited to get your ribbon! I will ship out the lavender striped ribbon to you when I get it. I will be sending it first class mail for US participants. You can watch my blog for details when that arrives. For the international participants, I have chosen to send another color of ribbon to you instead of shipping an additional package at a later date. I hope you'll understand. :)

Now I must get busy! I have 60 packages to haul to the post office! LOL I am off to seal the packages and get ready for shipping. :)

Have a great day!

Jan shares MAILED!

I mailed the 13 Jan ribbon share boxes that do not have the striped add on today. They all went out priority mail so you should receive them on Monday or Tuesday I think. :) YAY

I am still patiently waiting for the last 8 spools. Then I will be mailing out the final 60 ribbon share boxes. :)

I am shooting for another ribbon share in February so watch my blog for more details.

The Prima share signs up are filling up. I have already closed 2 of the 4 options for sign ups.

Soon, Primas will begin invading my house. :) LOL I have already placed orders for all the sign ups I have now. If needed, I will place one more order after the deadline. If you are paying by check I need it ASAP.

24 hours and 9,000+ yards of ribbon

YES, I am SERIOUS! I got a delivery yesterday! It contained 82 spools of striped ribbon and about 10 spools of solid grosgrain ribbon. I was on a MISSION! I cut ribbon from 9 pm until 3 am. Then, I woke up this morning and between the hours of 9 and 6:30 (with a couple breaks in between of course) I managed to finish ALL of the ribbon. My Mom was nice enough to come and help me from 2:30 until 6:30. I was the "cutter" and she was the "bundler". LOL Over 9,000 yards of ribbon has passed through my fingers today! WOW! Imagine that? LOL I am now waiting on the final 8 spools of ribbon to be delivered sometime in the next couple days *crossing fingers*. As soon as I get it, I will cut and bundle so I can ship the ribbon. YAY! I need to top off the boxes with the remainder of the red striped and yellow striped ribbon and they are DONE! I REALLY like the striped ribbon. It is awesome! Very nice texture and pretty colors! I know you will love it!
I also want to mention that I did not get to the post office today with the 13 January grosgrain share boxes. I WILL be shipping tomorrow. Sorry for the one day delay, but I was up to my elbows in ribbon and was determined to get it done. Having a "bundler" was a nice perk also! LOL
Thanks to all who have joined the Prima flower share. Sign ups are still open for most shares. Scroll down to check out the details for that share.
I have been asked about doing another ribbon share. Please watch my blog often for details about that. They fill up fast! I am shooting for sometime in February.
Have a wonderful day!
Signed your VERY tired, ribbon loving friend :)

January ribbon is DONE!

Today UPS visited my house. :) He delivered the rest of the January share grosgrain ribbon! YAY! I got right to cutting and I am DONE! The 13 participants in the January share that did not add the striped ribbon will have their ribbon soon. I am going to *try* to get to the post office tomorrow, but I will be car-less. If I can sweet talk my Mom into taking me it will be shipped tomorrow. Otherwise, I will ship it Friday morning.
The bulk of the striped ribbon was delivered as well. I have already cut one color and you can see it in some of the boxes above. My wonderful children were helping me, so if your hunter striped ribbon is wrapped a little funny you'll know it was because my 9 year old daughter INSISTED on helping me. LOL She is Mommy's little helper and "No" just really isn't an option. :) I have all but 8 spools (6 yellow and 2 red) of the striped ribbon delivered so far. The remainder was shipped on Monday so I am not expecting it to take too much longer to reach me. Then, the wait will be over and I can ship the remainder of the ribbon share boxes. :)
After I have shipped them I will let my hands rest until it is time for Prima sorting! LOL
I have closed one of the four options for the Prima share. You can read the details in the original Prima post which has been reflected to show the changes.
I am off to cut more ribbon and watch American Idol. Have a great night and Happy Ribbon Delivery Day! :)

December share participants are getting TANGLED!

WOOHOO! I have been hearing from happy ladies today! What FUN!? The December ribbon has started to arrive to some of the participants (who did not have the striped ribbon add on). I am SO glad everyone loves the colors! I can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Today, I am sharing a card that was made with ribbon from one of my past ribbon shares. I used the bravo burgundy match, the brocade blue match and the navy match! The stamp set is "Petal Pushers" from Stampin' Up! The patterned paper is from SEI.

Have a great day! I'd love to hear your ribbon stories. It's nice to hear I'm not the only one who gets excited about ribbon. LOL

Got Flowers?

I received a request today. :) One of my blog readers would like me to organize a Prima Flower share. Sounds like fun to me! :) I have looked into it and I CAN DO IT! :)

Can you imagine being able to get a sampling of all 24 new varieties of Got Flowers? They are vivid in color and oh so pretty! How about the new Daisy "tubes". There are 24 varieties and you could have some of each! :) I am also eyeing the essentials line. There are 6 varieties and each box has a variety of shapes and colors that are to die for! Like the ribbon, I would be buying in bulk. Then, I would sort out all the product. I know I am a BIG Prima junkie and would love it! I will offer a Got Flowers share (the flowers that come in "milk bottles"), a Daisy crazy share (the flowers that come in tubes and are Daisy shaped) and an essentials share (the flowers that are various colors, shapes and sizes within one box). SO... How many of you would be interested? Please post to this thread WITH YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS please or drop me an e-mail and let me know if you would like to be put on my "interesting in Prima share e-mail list". I do not have all the details ironed out yet, but I do know I would offer the share below Prima retail prices. After I have compiled an e-mail list, I will finalize the details and send out an e-mail with the share details. :)

You can e-mail me at: texasjodylynn@yahoo.com :)

The pictures shown are 12 of the 24 Got Flowers, 12 of the 24 Daisies and all 6 of the Essentials.

Thanks in advance for your feedback. :)

In the meantime, I will be cutting ribbon. LOL

Have a GREAT evening!

WOOHOO!

I just returned home from the US Post Office! All of the boxes that were December share only have been shipped! :) I sent the US packages priority mail. You should get them in 2-4 days. I sent 3 boxes to Canada. Those went air-letter post. They should be to you within 7-10 days. I hope you enjoy your ribbon! :)

I addressed all the boxes for the January and striped ribbon shares this morning/afternoon. I am still waiting on payment from a few of you.

I have begun cutting ribbon for the Jan share. Oh my aching left ring finger. LOL Of all the strange places to be in pain. LOL Apparently it is how I am holding the yard stick. OOPS

I have cleared up the striped ribbon back order situation. ALL striped ribbon is now en route to me. I again, had to pay extra to up size some of the spools to 5/8 inch or face long waiting times from the manufacturer. I did not want to do that, so I went ahead and up sized on a couple colors. I am expecting one shipment on the 24th and then again in about a week or so. I expect to be ready to ship within a couple days of receiving the final ribbon shipment.

Thanks to all who have joined! :)

Have a GREAT day!

Jan 21, 2007

OH my ACHING arm! LOL

WHEW! My arm/body/back/left thumb/left index finger are aching! LOL I just finished cutting 30 spools of ribbon today! I received the 30 spools yesterday! They completed the spools for the December ribbon share. They are ALL cut, bundled and boxed. YAY! :) I have sealed up all December share boxes that did not opt for the striped add on. Those will be mailed on Monday or Tuesday at the latest! If you were in the December share only, look for ribbon in your mailbox this week! YAY!
The January grosgrain ribbon came in yesterday as well. There were 5 spools back ordered, but I contacted the company and they have already shipped. I will be addressing boxes and cutting ribbon this next week as I wait for the remainder of the grosgrain to arrive.
I have received 6 spools of Hunter Green striped ribbon so far for the striped share. Much more is on the way already. I have an estimated delivery date of the 24th for that. There IS a back order situation for a couple colors of the striped ribbon. I have e-mailed the company and asked for a substitution in size OR a different patterned ribbon. I will keep you informed about this as I hear back from them. I do not intend to hold the ribbon for a long period of time. I am trying to get the company to substitute. If that does not happen and I feel it will be too long, I will re-evaluate what is best for all.
I have received several checks this week. Since I cut off the share almost 1 week ago, I am hoping the rest of the payments will get here soon. :) I need your payment ASAP if you have not mailed it already.
Thanks again to all who joined my ribbon shares. :)
I am looking into POLKA DOTS and other different ribbons for upcoming shares. As always I will post the info on my blog, so check back often as these shares fill up FAST!
Have a wonderful day! HUGS!

Watercolor!

Today, there was a challenge on SCS to use watercolor paper. It had been a while since I had used it so I gladly whipped it out and started stamping.

This is a penny black stamp called "Asters". It is stamped on watercolor paper. I used a marker to apply ink to the stamp and then misted lightly with a spray bottle.

Sketch challenge card

WOOHOO I found time to stamp yesterday for the sketch challenge on

SCS. For more info about that, click here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=41

I had grabbed Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Mellow Moss and Perfect Plum the night before, but never got around to stamping. I grabbed the card stock I had on my stamp table and went from there. I toyed with the idea of adding a neutral to stamp on, but decided that they were all too bright. I did something I don't often do: stamp on a "color." When doing this I ONLY use craft pads. Craft ink (pigment) sits on top of colored card stock instead of "mixing" with the paper to create a new color that cannot be defined. LOL

All layers are sponged in their matching color and then sponged with white craft ink. The backgrounds were stamped using a combination of versamark and craft ink. The sentiment is stamped in chocolate chip craft ink.

Thanks for checking out my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

Ribbon updates!

WOW! My helpers and I have finished cutting and bundling the first shipment of ribbon for the December ribbon share. :) This group of boxes has 13,000 yards of ribbon in them! WOWOWOWOWOW! I am now waiting on the last 6 colors (including Pixie Pink). After I receive that shipment and get it cut, I will ready to ship out the Dec share packages that did NOT add the striped ribbon.

The Jan share ribbon shipped the day after I ordered it. I believe it is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow *crossing fingers*. I will then get started on that ribbon, but will also be holding those that added on the striped ribbon.
The striped ribbon has not shipped yet, but I expect it to by the end of the week. I received e-mail notification that it was back ordered, but that back orders ship usually within 2-4 days.
One note about the striped ribbon share: when I ordered it, the 3/8 inch black & white and red & white were out of stock and I was not able to order those. Instead, I upgraded to the 5/8 inch ribbon in the same pattern and colors. This was an extra cost for me. Each spool was $2.84 more and I had to order a total of 12 upgraded ribbon spools. This was a total cost of $34.10 for me. I just wanted to let you know WHY 2 will be a different width and that I did not gain by making that choice. :) I promised 16 colors and 16 colors you will get! LOL
Have a wonderful day and enjoy the pictures of all the ribbon! :)

Jan 15, 2007

BOTH SHARES CLOSED

Hi all! :) I am sorry to report that both the January share and the striped share are now CLOSED. The striped ribbon deadline was this afternoon. The grosgrain ribbon share needed to be closed early due to all spots being filled.

Thanks to all who have joined and I will keep you updated! :)

The ribbon has ALL been ordered! :)

Thank you! :)

Jan 14, 2007

Only a few more hours...

Only a few hours left to sign up for the striped ribbon share. I will be organizing and compiling all the info in about 5 hours! If you'd like to sign up, please see the post below and HURRY! LOL

Thanks to all who have joined thus far. :)

In other news... the red ribbon that was missing in the box for the Dec grosgrain share has arrived. I am now waiting on the last 6 colors from the 2nd company I ordered from. :)

I will be ordering the striped ribbon add on today! :)

My swap card!

A couple of friends and I organized a quick and easy swap. I only had to make 2, so I agreed to participate. Truth be told, I do not like swapping usually. LOL
This card used Like it a Latte stamp set from Stampin' Up! I LOVE that stamp set. What is REALLY ironic is that I cannot stand coffee. LOL I just pretend it's hot cocoa all the time and it works for me. LOL For the steam, I inked in versamark and then in close to cocoa. After it is "double inked" I stamped down and dumped iridescent ice embossing powder on it and embossed. The heart is stamped on not quite navy in versamark and also embossed in iridescent ice embossing powder. The cup was inked in close to cocoa, but before stamping down I ran my not quite navy marker around the outer edge of the cup. All the edges on the card are sponged and there are some cocoa beans (NOT coffee beans lol) stamped in versamark on the right hand side although you can't see them well in the pic.
Have a GREAT day!

December ribbon share update!

Hi all! :) I received a big ol' box of ribbon yesterday! :) YAY. This is the first shipment of ribbon I am expecting. There are 6 additional colors being shipped from a different company, but they are a bit slower. There was one problem with the ribbon I received. I have contacted the company and they are already aware and have sent out the red. It will probably be here before the ribbon from the other company gets here though, so it shouldn't be an issue. I know the other company has not shipped yet anyway. Here are some pics to drool over in the meantime. :)

Ribbon Update

As promised, when I have something to share about the ribbon I will post it here on my blog. :)

I received an e-mail from one of the companies I ordered from. They said my order will be ready to ship in about 7-10 days and then take an additional 4 days to get to me. I have experienced back order situations from this company in the past, but I am hoping that will not happen this time.

I also received an e-mail from the second company I ordered from. They said my order shipped yesterday. YAY! :) The tracking isn't working yet, so I am not sure when it will be here. I will be able to start on the 1st part of the ribbon while waiting on the 2nd part. YAY again! :)

I have once again enlisted the help of my friend Tracy Tripp. :) She has her scissors ready! LOL Susan will also be helping! I am SO thankful for them! :) I couldn't do it (and stay sane) without them. Thank you ladies!

I know I have not sent out a PM/e-mail confirming payment. Rest assured if you have paid, I have your name on my list and you ARE signed up and will get your ribbon. I have saved all the Paypal PMs and will address all the boxes as soon as my order from USPS gets here.

I also went shopping this week for your free gifts. :) I wanted to send a little something to say THANKS for signing up on short notice.

Have a wonderful day! :)

Stampin' in the New Year!

This is the group shot of the projects I completed on New Year's eve/New Year's day. I was in the mood for Basic Grey Blush can you tell? I hadn't broken into my 12 X 12 pack and it was about time. I am in love with the striped paper I used, but now it is gone. *sigh* I NEED more!

This is a Slim Jim can. LOL I covered it with paper using sticky strip tape. I punched holes all around the outer top of the lid and then tied LOTS of American Crafts ribbon on the lid to jazz it up. You'll need an anywhere hole punch to punch the holes. For the lid, I stamped the cocoa beans on pink patterned paper, then stamped the sentiment on another piece and adhered them all together. It is adhered with glue lines and then a matching piece is glued to the inside of the lid to hide all the adhesive. It is filled with chocolate.

I had to revisit my hot cocoa pack next. Inside this is a Mocha Kit Kat. I used the same basic layout as I did for my hot cocoa packet. I added an oval piece of hardware to the top and tied it closed with lots of yummy ribbon.

This is a Hershey's mocha candy bar. I made a sleeve out of pretty in pink card stock. I stamped some cocoa beans on it and did a little sponging. Then, I added some Basic Grey, a tag and some ribbon. It was a fairly simple project, but sure dresses up a $.50 candy bar.

This is a simple pocket note card. I purchased the pack of 30 cards and envelopes from Stampin Up. There is stamping on this card, but it's inside. It reads: you make life sweet! :) Awwwwwwww!

This was my favorite piece to the collection. This is a Boston Baked Beans candy tin from the Target dollar spot. I removed the handle first. Then, I removed the hinged lid. I sanded off all visible areas of the container that would show when open. I added the strip of striped patterned paper to the center and then put the handle back on. The front and back were decorated with a piece of patterned paper. I finished it off with a chipboard heart ensemble and and a tag hung with some O rings and a heart charm. I squealed when I was done with it. LOL Too cute! I will fill it with something fun for the recipient.

Happy New Year everyone! :) How did you spend your New Year's Eve? Me? I stamped in the New Year! I invited a friend and her 4 children over. She is a fellow stamper and my Stampin' Up up line. Her husband is in Iraq with the US Army and my husband was working a 48 hour shift so I thought it would be great if we could spend it together instead of being alone. :) When she got here, my FIRST order of business was to finalize the ribbon order. I showed her the colors I chose and she loved them just as much as I did! Then, I went through the ordering process. I am VERY careful during ordering. LOL I don't want to end up with 50 spools of pixie pink ribbon KWIM? So... after 1 hour and 10 minutes the order was done! Now is the nervous, waiting for the ribbon stage. I am crossing my fingers that there are no back orders. I have to be a *little* apprehensive about that since I ordered 15,000 yards of ribbon! YIKES! I think it sounds better if I say 150 spools, so we will go with that instead! No mention of the 15,000 yards or I may faint. LOL Ooooooooo I can't wait until it gets here. You can look forward to color matches for:

In an effort to send you the BEST matches, I have ordered from 2 different companies. Not all colors are created equally and I HAD to get the best from both. :) Look for updates here on the ribbon order. I will keep you posted step by step. :)
