My Favorite Things

I just got this cute stamp set from a new stamp company named My Favorite Things. It is called "Say Charge". Heehee! PERFECT! I fell in love with these ladies shopping! They remind me of my friends and I out on a shopping trip, except for the fact that I wouldn't be in heels and would look a little "fluffier" than that! LOL The image was colored in with a combination of ink pulled off the lid of my Stampin' Up ink pads and watercolor crayons.
To check out this stamp set or any other stamps in their great line, click the following link:

Prima Flowers Update

I placed the Prima flower order today. I was told it would ship in 1-2 weeks. As soon as it arrives, I will post another update.

I only have a few spots left. If you'd like one of the available spots, let me know by e-mailing me at:

texasjodylynn@yahoo.com

The spots I have available are:

1 Daisy Crazy

The details for the above spots are in this post:

http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/2007/01/prima-share-details.html

After these are filled the share will be closed. I am hoping to do another share in a few months with different types of flowers. :) I LOVE variety! LOL

Separation Anxiety?

When you make a card that you like is it hard for you to give it away? DO you mourn the loss of a cute card? Even for a moment? Well... I do! LOL I like to keep them around for a couple days. Sometimes even longer! Other times I stamp specifically for someone and send it on it's merry way immediately. LOL Is that strange? Maybe? LOL

A couple days ago I posted some cards that I made specifically for the local stamp store I teach classes at, Stamp & Scrap Trap (link to the right). I used my new spring release A Muse stamps at her request and took her the cards. Well... I missed them. LOL I wanted my own so I could look at that cute bunny and chick for a couple days and then send them on their way to brighten some one's day. LOL So, I copied my own cards and put a little different twist on them.
I added another project to my blog this time. I wrapped a package of Peeps with patterned paper and made a cute little tag. I am loving the Peep sentiment from A Muse. I wanted the set to match so I used the same Basic Grey paper line for all 3 items.
I am off to STAMP! Have a great day!

Adventures at the Post Office

Oh my goodness! Look at all those boxes! LOL
ALL of the solid, striped and lollipop shares are now shipped! All US packages were sent via priority mail. All international packages were sent air mail. Watch for your boxes soon! The picture above is my car stuffed with boxes. I have a small car and it took me 2 trips. LOL Correction... it took my hubby 2 trips. I stayed at the post office and he went back home for the 2nd load. When he got back the clerk was still working on the 1st load so I didn't even have to get out of line. Thankfully he was home to help!
The polka dot ribbon share is filling up fast! If you'd like to get it on that, check out the post below. :)
Have a great day!
I am off to pick up my NEW glasses! I have been without for several months since mine broke in half. I mourned the loss because I REALLY loved my glasses. LOL I finally found a similar pair and ordered them last week. Now I will have a choice between contacts and glasses and I couldn't be more excited! *ah simple pleasures*

Lollipop is sugary sweet!

My house has been sugary sweet since last night. UPS dropped off a big ol' box of ribbon on my doorstep. I was SO excited to rip in to it and start cutting! Sad, I know... but very true! LOL I started yesterday evening and cut until almost 4 a.m. LOL Needless to say, I slept in today. As soon as I was fully awake and had milled around the house a little, I started cutting again. I am now DONE! YAY! Big thanks to my friend, Tracy who helped me cut it! I have bundled and sorted into boxes. Now, I need to finish addressing the last of them. I will be bombarding the post office on Monday with about 100 packages! LOL I am having a little anxiety thinking about all the people in line BEHIND me. I am thinking I may need a bodyguard! LOL
Here are some pictures I took a couple of minutes ago. The first picture is the tower of boxes I have packaged up already. The second picture is a peek inside the boxes with lollipop ribbon in them. Doesn't it look sweet?!?!?!
I will be mailing ALL striped, striped & solid and lollipop ribbon shares on Monday. Watch your mailboxes! :)

Beaded Basic Grey

There is a contest going on next week at my LSS, Stamp & Scrap Trap (link to the right). I decided I would make a card to enter in the contest. :) The theme is "Black Tie" as in... Black Tie Basic Grey. I used a tag punch out and cut it down into a rectangle. Then, I cut a piece of terrifically tacky sheet tape to the exact same size. (I buy mine at Hobby Lobby or Michaels) The black layer is stamped in Going Gray craft. The entire black, stamped layer is paper pierced all the way around. I also pierced the gray layer. The sentiment was stamped in black and punched out with the Stampin' Up small oval punch. I attached it to the focal layer using 2 O-rings. I polished it off with 2 pieces of ribbon peeking through on the left. I find it hard to leave ribbon off a card! LOL
I am going to run to the stamp store and leave my entry for the contest. :) I am hoping there is not too much temptation there tonight. My hubby already took me to the $ spot at Target today and went a *little* overboard! LOL
Have a great night!
Make sure to check back tomorrow for some DOT-A-RIFIC news. :) I think you'll all be DOTTY! :)

Happy Mail!

WOW, I got the CUTEST happy mail today! My mailman rang the doorbell this morning and imagine my surprise when I saw him holding a gorgeously decorated 2 liter bottle? He was quite amused, but not as amused as I was! WOW! When I saw the return address it brought a smile to my face! It was from LOIS M, who has participated in several shares. She is always so thoughtful and sweet and this was no exception! Thank you so much Lois for sending me such a cool gift! I can't wait to alter these things! :) YAY

This is a picture of what was inside. HUGE HUGS to Lois! Thank you SO much!

Limited Supply Challenge

On SCS (link to the right), there is a limited supply challenge posted weekly. The challenge for this week is to use ribbon scraps. This is slightly funny to me because the name of the challenge implies that one would have a limited supply of ribbon... or would that be a limited supply of ribbon scrap??? At any rate, we all know I have a limited supply of NEITHER of the aforementioned. LMBO! It was a no brainer that I would have to come up with a card for the challenge and in no time at all I had this card. :) OOOhhhh ribbon makes me happy!

I used Basic Grey's Urban Couture line which has been neglected since Blush came out. LOL The sentiment is once again the wonderful new sentiment from A Muse's spring release. I just loooove it. It reads:

  • A true friend is the greatest of all blessings.

Awwwwwwww isn't that the truth? :)

The sentiment is stamped on a celery layer. The chocolate layer is stamped using Celery craft ink and sponged with chocolate chip dye ink. Then I punched the center with a Marvy scalloped square punch (mega size). The Chocolate frame is mounted using dimensional foam lines so that the sentiment is actually in a "lifted frame". To incorporate the scraps of ribbon, I punched out 5 holes using my horizontal slot punch from Stampin' Up and then taped a small piece of ribbon on the backside of the card. I cut the ribbon in a "V" which I rarely do, but I thought it would add more "OOMPH" to the card. I also tied a small piece of polka dot organdy to a piece of hardware on the frame. The entire frame is then mounted on dimensionals to the top layer of the card base.

I have more new toys and am hoping to stamp some more tonight. :) YAY

Have a wonderful day!

I STAMPED!

YAY! I stamped! :)

Jean, the owner of Stamp & Scrap Trap (where I teach a monthly technique class) asked me to make a couple samples with the new spring release A Muse stamps. :) I *only* bought 17 the other day! LOL I go NUTS for sentiment stamps and there were PLENTY for me to choose from with the latest release! YIKES! I had a ball coming up with some projects she can display in the store. I dropped them off this afternoon and of course found some things to buy. She had new stuff sitting on the counter ready to be checked into the system and I rummaged through it and picked out some stuff. YAY for having the opportunity to have first pick! LOL I LOVE it when that happens.
*The first card was made with the cute little bunny that reminds me of a PEEP. :) I cut a piece of card stock into a square piece that is about 3 3/4 X 3 3/4. Then, I used a piece of Stampin' Up! chipboard to trace circles with. The traced circles guided where I punched the circles. The bunnies were stamped on Stampin' Up! watercolor paper, then colored with an aquapainter and dye ink pad. I put liquid applique on the tails and puffed them up with my heat gun. Hubby told me it looked like popcorn... silly man! LOL The grass (another A Muse stamp) was stamped with Versamark on the Saffron piece of card stock. I dotted around the upper left circle with a white gel pen. the tag was made using the key tag punch from Stampin' Up. I finished it off with a short piece of gingham ribbon. It's one of those cards that makes me happy when I look at it. :) Cute little bunnies!

*This card uses the cute chick stamp from A Muse. I decided to paper piece him. I stamped the chick on a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper and then cut him out (minus the legs and beak), then I stamped the chick on SU watercolor paper and colored the beak and legs. I used my Quickie Glue Pen to attach the paper piecing to the watercolored image. I must point out that if you look at the lines on the chick and the lines on the paper, you will see that they are lined up. :) I'm all about having my "ducks in a row" if you know what I mean. LOL I don't think the planets would align had I not lined that up properly. LOL I distressed the edges of the card stock, added some paper piercing and faux stitching and added an ADORABLE sentiment "Miss You" on the actual card and then punched an oval so that it peeks through.

*This is a simple shaker tag created with Basic Grey patterned paper (Lily Kate). I used an existing tag from my paper pack and added the layer behind by trimming it to mimic the patterned tag. This was a simple project, yet showcases the wonderful SENTIMENT! This one, by far is my favorite! :)

I am now in "stamping mode" and hope to get back at it tonight. :)

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Oh.... one more thing... I see DOTS in the near future! HMMMMM what could that mean? *big grin*

Tuesday Notes

I shipped the mountain of boxes I showed you in a picture a few posts back. It was quite the event. I am beginning to feel like a circus freak when I show up at the USPS with so many boxes. LOL People stare, point and comment how it must be Christmas. heehee If only they knew it FELT like Christmas when you open a box like that. Ahhhhhhh! LOL

The Prima share is now open again. The couple spots I had left went quickly and I decided to go ahead and open the share back up for a round 2. The share will close on February 28th. All sign ups and payments need to be to me by Feb 28th. I will order on or around the 28th. As always I keep updates here on my blog during the entire process. Ribbon Ribbon Ribbon

CHECK OUT this picture. OMG! LOL That is my tower of boxes that are ready to go postal. To say I have been hard at work would be an understatement. LOL
WHEW! I slept in until noon! That was the time I was hoping for so YAY me. :) Hubby shut the door to our bedroom and kept the kids quiet enough for me to sleep 8 hours. I needed that! :) My arms and shoulders are rather sore which is quite comical to me. LOL

I woke up today and finished up sorting the Primas that have been paid for. Then, I milled around the house and decided it was ribbon cutting time again!
I began cutting some of the striped ribbon. My hubby was sitting next to me on the couch and I said, "this would go twice as fast if you were helping me bundle". Long pause.... *sigh* Repeat: "this would go twice as fast if you were helping me." *sigh* He finally responded and said that if he helped he would "get in trouble" and "not do it right and make me mad" (apparently I am a perfectionist LMBO). I told him it was not hard to wrap paper around ribbon. With a little more coaxing he was diligently wrapping ribbon with paper and trying not to fall behind with his job. LOL It was VERY helpful. Thanks Honey! :)

Out of the 10 colors of striped, 3 are on some sort of back order. There are 3 colors back ordered, but only a total of 8 spools (2, 2 and 4 of different colors). I was able to cut 20 spools of striped and box them up. I will have to wait for the other colors to send the rest out. I have already been in contact with the company and they let me know that it shouldn't be long for the back orders to be shipped to me. I am crossing my fingers that I will have it by this Friday.

As of right now I have 52 packages of ribbon ready to go out! I had planned to go to the post office tomorrow, but my dear husband informed me the USPS is closed, so it will have to wait until Tuesday. LOL OOPS 2 packages are striped only, approx 20 are striped and solid, and the rest are solid only. There will be many ribbon-tangled ladies this week. Please let me know when you get it. :) YAY
I have some open Prima share spots after sorting all the orders. I will post those in a little while. They will be available on a first come/first served basis. I prefer paypal and with prompt payment, your Primas will ship on Tuesday.

Feb grosgrain update :)

I just wanted to let you all know that I cut ribbon today for 11 hours. :) You will be shocked to know that some ribbon will be shipped on MONDAY! YES... I already have some done. WHEW!

Tracy and her kids were here from about 4 p.m. until almost 3 a.m. The entire time we were cutting/bundling and boxing. :) YAY for teamwork! Susan also brought about 20 spools of cut ribbon this evening.

I am now going to go to bed and hopefully sleep in LATE. LOL

To be continued...

Lollipop share is now closed

Hi all! The lollipop share is now closed. Thanks to all who joined. :) Please do not send any more paypal payments as I have no spots left. Sorry if you missed it. I will try to do it again in the future. :)

Have a good night!

Taking a Walk in the Garden...

In my living room! My Prima flower garden that is. :) The final shipment of Primas arrived last night while I was out to dinner with my hubby (PF Changs yum yum). Luckily, my UPS man left the box on my front porch. YAY I got to work last night and have already sorted/packaged nine share spots. I will finish the rest today and will ship them out on Monday. Watch my blog later for last minute sign ups on a couple Prima share spots I will have open.

Have a great day! :)

Lollipop, Lollipop oh lolli lolli lolli.....

The Lollipop ribbon share is *ALMOST* full! You all LOVE your ribbon (maybe even as much as me LOL). I have a few spots left, so if you want in... the time is NOW. I will be closing this today!

ANNOUNCING a NEW ribbon share!

EEEEK! I apologize in advance, but SERIOUSLY... who could pass up the opportunity to do a share with this ribbon? It is GORGEOUS! I am always on the look out for great deals and great ribbon and I found one! YAY
To cut down on confusion and wait times I will not be offering this ribbon as an add on to a current share. The ribbon will come in a different priority box. This will allow me to be as prompt as possible with the current shares and then complete the lollipop share. Thank you for understanding. :)

This is called lollipop ribbon and is SO pretty! Here are the details:
  • 3/8 inch lollipop ribbon
  • 10 different colors (a great variety, colors shown will be ordered unless they are on a back order status)
  • 10 yards of each color
  • 100 yards total
  • $25 per participant (including shipping back to you and paypal fees) This is ONLY $.25 per yard INCLUDING shipping!
  • I cut the ribbon, bundle it by color and ship it to you in a priority box (international shipments are sent airmail usually). Time to ship to you depends on shipping from the manufacturer, but should be around a month or less from the time I receive all payments. Cutting and bundling takes a tremendous amount of time, but I do my best to get it done quickly.
*Canadians add $3 to total for a total of $28. All other countries add $5 for a total of $30. IF shipping is much more than I charged for international participants (non Canadian), I will ask that you paypal me the difference.
  • You may sign up for more than one spot if you would like to. Just double the price when sending payment. IF you sign up for more than 1 spot, your ribbon will still be cut into 10 yard sections, but you will get 10 yards of each color per spot.
  • There are limited spots and can close early without warning.

I am making this a RUSH sign up. You MUST send me paypal for the total above no later than midnight on February 17th. My paypal address is: texasjodylynn@yahoo.com . I realize this is VERY short notice giving you about 48 hours to respond, BUT this is a GREAT deal that I can’t pass up. If you would like to participate, please send me paypal and add the following info in the “notes” section while sending paypal:
  • name
  • SCS name (if applicable)
  • mailing address(if different than your paypal registered mailing address)

I am only accepting Paypal at this time to cut down on wait time. (if I have spots open on Feb 17th, I will open it up for checks/money orders). I will be ordering the ribbon on February 17th! If you would like to sign up, just send your payment and all the info requested. No need to PM or e-mail me, but you can if you have a question. I am trying to be as efficient as possible since there is little time to organize this. LOL. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT AFTER THE DEADLINE WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. I will keep my blog updated as always to share the progress of the order with you.

RUBBER STAMPER!

I am soooooooo excited! Today, I got the March/April issue of Rubber Stamper in the mail! I have been PUBLISHED! YAY! I submitted a card at the request of Tracey at Starving Artistamps (see link on the right). There was a call for geometric stamps and she has the PERFECT images for that! There are the cutest dotted Paisleys in her line! They are so fun!

My card is on page 23 in the design focus section. It is one small thing, but very exciting for me. :) I am easily entertained. LOL

I see other familiar names in there also! Congratulations to Michele Boyer (shel9999), Lindsey Botkin (jacksonbelle), Lauren Meader (mytime) and I am sure more that I am not aware of. Everything looks great!

PRIMA update

Sorry to post so many things this evening. I have a lot to report about. LOL

The final order of Prima flowers are on their way to me. The shipping was a little slower than it had been, but still relatively quick. I ordered the 4th and final order for the Feb Prima share on Feb 8th and it shipped out on Feb 13th. *Hopefully* it will get here tomorrow, but will likely be early next week. As soon as they get here I will pack them up and ship them out. I should be able to get it done in 24 hours or less from the time I receive the order. I will keep you posted on that.

I sent out a few packages today. They were Daisy Crazy shares that have been paid in the past several days.

I will have a couple spots left in a few different Prima shares. I will post about those after I have received and sorted out the remaining Primas.

FEBRUARY RIBBON IS HERE

WOWZERS! That was FAST! I ordered the ribbon last Friday on the deadline for sign ups. It shipped the SAME DAY (except a couple back ordered spools) and it arrived a little while ago. WOW! I am happy and scared to death at the same time. LOL This is a HUGE undertaking. Good thing I am already crazy or this may have pushed me over the edge! LMBO! I (and my ribbon cutting angel helpers) will be cutting 27,000 yards of ribbon! YES... you read that right! 27,000 yards! :) That is a A LOT of ribbon! As always I will be working hard to get it cut and out the door. I know you all are excited to see your ribbon. :)

Tracy and Susan (my ribbon cutting ANGELS) have already come by and picked up some of the ribbon to help. They are QUICK and oh so appreciated. I am going to have to do something special for them. :)

There are a total of 12 spools of ribbon back ordered (4 solid, 8 striped). I have already e-mailed the company asking for substitution colors so that I (you) don't have to wait. They are really great to work with and I don't think it will be a problem.

Tonight as I watch my DVRd shows I will be TANGLED UP! :)

Have a great night and send me positive vibes. LOL

Lavender Striped Ribbon is HERE

WOOHOO! Yesterday evening, the 6 back ordered Lavender striped ribbons arrived. I will finish cutting them tonight and mail them out tomorrow. Remember these will be going 1st class in a Kraft envelope. International participants were sent an additional color of solid grosgrain in lieu of the striped ribbon due to increased shipping charges (I am shipping these out at my cost).
Thanks to everyone who joined! :) This will complete the January striped ribbon share. :)
Isn't that ribbon GORGEOUS!?!?

BUSY BUSY BUSY

I have been MIA for a couple of days. :) I was child care provider extraordinaire this week. I babysat my cousin's 4 year old son and 10 month old daughter Tues, Wed and Thurs. Let me just say that I am SO glad my children are 6, 9 and 12. NOT that I don't enjoy the young children because I do, but GEEZ they are a lot of work. LOL The baby, Amelia thoroughly enjoys Barbie shoes, small pieces of paper and any miscellaneous small item she can find on the floor. Not to mention of course the SHARPIE incident. I was packaging up a couple Daisy Crazy share boxes when the phone rang, then my hubby spilled a coke on the computer desk simultaneously. I am freaking out because I have stuff ALL OVER the computer desk of course! LOL I throw down the teal sharpie on the floor, run to answer the phone then help hubby wipe up coke before it runs all over everything on the desk. I turn around and baby girl has teal sharpie on her lips and tongue. OMG! LMBO! SO... lessons of the day?

1.) Always cap a sharpie even if you just walk away for a second
2.) Don't drink coke at the computer (currently breaking rule #2)
3.) A freshly changed diaper always gets messed up in less than 5 minutes
4.) A four year old never likes the food you prepare. LOL
5.) If you turn your back for one second, you will have to search the house for the 10 month old and will usually find her with paper (or a Barbie shoe) in her mouth.

Stand by-more posts coming! :)

ALL TANGLED UP!

WOW, I just placed the ribbon order! That was FUN! My friends say it is funny to see me on a "ribbon high". I guess that is what you can call my mental state right now. HEEHEE It was a VERY large order! YIKES! I am going to be so tangled up when it gets here. LOL I have gone from a flower garden to a ribbony heaven! :) I will keep you posted throughout the process right here on my blog. Thank you to all who signed up.

I have very few spots open. If you are interested in a spot, please e-mail me at texasjodylynn@yahoo.com . I will post when all spots have been filled.

Prima tower!

These are all the boxes that will be going to the post office tomorrow. I worked last night and today to get these ALL done. The third shipment is now totally sorted and packaged. As I mentioned earlier, the 4th and final order has been placed. As soon as it arrives (hopefully sometime next week) I will get those final orders sorted as quickly as I can and get them mailed out to you. :)

Prima News

I received another shipment of Prima flowers last night. That was the last of the orders that have already been placed. I started working on them immediately and am almost done. I will be shipping out lots of packages tomorrow. you can see how many shares I have boxed up already in the photo.

I placed the final Prima order this afternoon. The Prima share is now CLOSED! I will have a couple spots open still, but will post those once I have filled all orders received thus far. The last shipment of flowers will ship out to me in approx 1 week, so I should have them within 2 weeks and at that time I will ship all remaining shares. I received news when I ordered today that the daisies are on back order and will be for at least 4 weeks. This situation will affect only 12 of the Prima share participants. I will be in contact with you later today to give you some options. IF I do not contact you, your order is/will be complete.
Thanks to everyone who joined the Prima share! I will be doing this again in March or April, so watch my blog for more details on that. It will be different, I can tell you that much. LOL
Have a wonderful day! :)

more Primas went postal!

I think maybe the employees at my local USPS may go postal! LOL Or... maybe the customers in line behind me may go postal. LOL At any rate, these 18 packages full of Primas went postal today! I worked all day to get the Primas sorted and was able to sweet talk my mother in to taking me to the post office this afternoon. This shipment contained 5 Prima Lovers packages, 1 daisies package and 12 Essentials packages. I still have one shipment to receive this week and then one more order to place and receive sometime soon.

More Prima flowers in the house!

I received my second of four Prima orders yesterday afternoon. :) YAY! I began the sorting ritual last night as I was watching Prison Break on DVR (which by the way was SO awesome). Here is a pic of my distribution center desk. LOL I sit on the floor, lay out a white towel and get it done! This shipment will fulfill 4 more Prima Lovers spots, and quite a few Essentials spots. I will do my best to be done with this shipment by Thursday morning so I can ship these out. The 3rd order is already en route to me. The 4th order has not been placed yet. I am waiting a couple more days to place that one to see how much more I will need to order.
Thanks to everyone who has joined!
If anyone else wants in, I have a few spots left in each share option for the Pima flowers. If you would like the details, click here: http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/2007/01/prima-share-details.html

I have gotten several cards from wonderful ladies who have joined one of my shares. I got a very cool one in the mail today and wanted to share it since I had never seen one like it in person before. This card is from Deb! Thanks Deb for sending it to me. Maybe if Deb reads this she will post the directions in the comments of this post for everyone to try one. :)

ETA: Thanks Deb for letting me know where to find the directions to make one of these beautiful cards. Here is a link to splitcoaststampers that tells where to find the directions to make the card. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219384&page=5

  • 30 different colors

  • approx. 10 yards of each color

Primas Going Postal!

I have sorted and bagged the entire first large order of Prima flowers. These 22 boxes will be mailed today. They are a mix of different shares. One of them may be coming to you! :) I am sending them out on a first ordered/paid, first sent out system. I am expecting another order soon that has already been shipped out and placed a third order yesterday that should ship out today at some point.
Thanks again to all who have joined. I still have ALL sign ups open and will leave them open until Feb 15th. I have already asked my hubby for flowers for Valentine's Day.... PAPER flowers. LOL I asked him to refrain from ordering me the normal $75 rose bouquet and to instead give me Primas. He just laughed and said I was the only girl he knew that asked to NOT get flowers. I compromised and said he could buy me a single or inexpensive bouquet from Walmart. LOL
I have been getting lots of e-mail about doing another ribbon share. It is in the works and will be posted this month. Keep an eye on my blog for sign ups.
Have a wonderful day!
