Tangled in Ribbon!

Last night I got the 4th of 4 shipments. I stayed up late cutting and boxing the last of it! :) YAY

All PAID packages have been mailed! YAHOOOOOOOOO! I have a few that will be sending payment soon and as soon as the payment is received, I will be shipping those.

Check out what was delivered! WOOHOO! It's ribbon time! Shipments 1 and 2 have been received (3 and 4 are on their way). I spent last night (until 4 am) and ALL DAY LONG today cutting ribbon. It was A LOT of ribbon. I am done cutting all the ribbon that has been received. I will be mailing packages starting Monday. YAY Start watching your mail boxes! Oh and by the way.... all the ribbon is delicious! I am particularly in love with the polka dot grosgrain (shown), the suede (YUMMY colors) and the variegated stripes (pretty color combos on those). The twill is a nice textured ribbon and will look GREAT on masculine cards! Of course the polka dot organdy is a classic and the striped grosgrain is a nice silky, elegant ribbon. *ahhhhhhhhhhh* PRETTY!

All ribbon has been ordered and is on the way. I am expecting the first shipment by tomorrow (crossing fingers). Then, I will be busily cutting and packaging. :)

Stamp It!

I wanted to share with you all that I have a card in the current Stamp It! cards magazine! I am SO excited about it! YAY! You can find my card on page 11. This is a picture of the cover of the magazine.

Is that how you spell that? LOL

I wanted to share a couple cards I came up with last night! The first 12 times I looked at that set Zoofari in the preview brochure from Stampin Up, I thought it was absolutely hideous! I balked at it even! LOL Well, one night when I was placing a Stampin Up order I needed to add something to bump up my order. Since it's so late in the catalog year I have everything I want and then some. Heck, I have TWO of most things. LOL SO.... the animals called out to me and said BUY ME. I shrugged and entered the number into the ordering system. A week later they showed up on my doorstep and I thought, "OMG, they are so cute, but what was I thinking?" Well, a friend came over to stamp for a while last night and she fell in love with Zoofari, so I went ahead and mounted it so we could use it. I set out to make an elegant zoofari card which seemed a tall order. LOL This is the card I came up with. I REALLY like it. I am confused... puzzled... and well... STILL have no idea why I bought this set, but I'm glad I did. These cute little animals suckered me in! LOL The other card is my patterned Rhino and I think he is rather dashing! I guess the moral of this story is:

Don't write off a stamp set that you first find hideous. There is beauty even in strange little animals. LOL

Ribbon shares re-opened

I KNEW this was going to happen. LOL I am re-opening the shares. :) I has several people sign up and now I can open another group. ALL ribbon types are available still. Feel free to send payment and join any share(s) you would like.

Ribbon share updates

Hi all! I just wanted to post an update for you all about the ribbon share.

ALL ribbon for all shares has been ordered. I have placed 3 orders, the last being this afternoon. Within a week or so I should have all ribbon in hand (barring any back orders *crossing fingers*).

Breaking in my new rubber!

I finally broke in one of my new Stampin' Up sets tonight! YAY! I was in the mood to stamp, so as soon as the sketch challenge was posted I went to my stamp room to get busy! I had to MOUNT the set before I started, but I wanted to use this new set Baroque Motifs. I paired it with the matching patterned paper that is coming out on July 1st and this is the card I came up with.

I am on a mission to use my newest toys and made 4 more cards yesterday! YAY

To make the first card I stamped the flower with sentiment in Black Stazon and then colored in with reinker using a blender pen. On the tip of each petal, I dotted with a glue pen and dusted it with a pomegranite colored glitter! The scalloped edge was made with my corner rounder.

On the 2nd card I first made my own pomegranite marker. To do that just squirt a drop or two of re-inker on a non-porous surface and soak up the ink on a blender pen. Be prepared the dedicate that blender pen as a marker for that color though. :) It does not "clean" well after soaking up re-inker. I inked up the stamp using my markers and stamped. Then I went over the base of the flower with quickie glue pen and dusted with some brown glitter. The line at the top of the card is faux stitching, but I "stitched" with a quickie glue pen and then glittered with my brown glitter. It love the way that turned out.

The 3rd card was made again using my markers to ink up the stamp. Then, I misted with a water bottle and stamped to create the watercolory effect. I used my color spritzer to spray some specks on the card stock and matted and embellished the card. The photo corners were created using a punch. I tried Amy's tutorial, but I apparently am photo corner impaired so I was glad to find this punch while visiting a friend in VA! I used a ruler and white gel pen to mark the line in it just for fun. I finished it off with some jumbo cross stitches and come Basic Grey Blush paper.

The last card was again created using markers to ink up the stamp. I huffed on the stamp after inking and then filled in some of the stalks using a blender pen and some Mellow Moss ink. I spritzer the card stock using the color spritzer from Stampin' Up. I finished it off with a tab from a Stampin' Up punch and some fun velvet ribbon from a past share. I also did lots of paper piercing.

Another peek at my vacation

My entire family had caricatures drawn by an artist at Universal City while we were in LA. It is drawn freehand and then airbrushed. Mine was pretty funny and I thought I would share it with you all. Obviously it is supposed to be somewhat comical, but I think I like myself better as a cartoon than IRL. *wink* LOL The artist was a little *generous* in some areas LMBO! Other than that, it really does resemble me.

We are planning to have all 5 drawings framed and hang them as art in our house. It is a great memento from our trip.

I'm HOME!

I am home from my 12 day CA vacation! YAY It feels good to be home. :) This is my absolute favorite picture that I took with my digital camera! It is my 3 munchkins at Huntington Beach BEFORE they jumped in the ocean. Can you see the anticipation on their little faces? LOL

The vacation was great! We spent 5 days at Disneyland/California Adventures, 2 days at Universal Park/City, 1 day at Huntington Beach and the other days were hanging out at Downtown Disney. We had a blast and now it is time for me to rest! LOL I must have walked 200 miles while we were there.

I am trying to catch up on e-mails and get life back in order.
