Oh geez!

My last post was supposed to read:

SALT Lake City! LOL

I guess I am a little too excited and should *REALLY* proof read. LOL

I just got the notification for e-mail subscribers and I cringed when I saw SLAT! LOL

I am being dropped off at the airport in 1 1/2 hours, so off I go to get ready. :)

Slat Lake City here I come!

I am SO excited. Tomorrow morning I will be flying to Salt Lake City, Utah to get together with some of my best friends from SCS (splitcoaststampers). I am SO SO SO excited to see some of them again and to meet others for the first time. It should be TONS of fun! :)
We are going to shop, stamp, shop, eat, shop, laugh and maybe laugh some more. :)
We are going to do a shoebox swap. Each person coming will be bringing 1-3 shoebox swaps and we will make all the projects throughout the time we are there. We are also having a game night complete with door prizes.
Each of us made a door prize. Above is the one I made. I will show you what is inside and tell you more about it when I return. :) Just in case they are peeking. LOL
I'll be gone for 4 days. :)
If you would like to sign up for the glitter share, you can do it anytime from now until October 3rd. I will be placing the final order on October 4th. Feel free to send payment etc while I am gone. I will get back to you by Oct 4th. All glitter must be paid for by October 4th. Here is the info on the glitter share:

I Need a T-Shirt!

The shirt needs to say: YES, I know I have glitter on my face!

LOL!

Yes ladies, the glitter is in the house! :) It is SO pretty! It is sealed in little pots, but I think the company sprinkles glitter on the outside just for fun! LOL

I will be packaging it up tonight and tomorrow and will mail the first paid orders tomorrow. All packages will go USPS priority mail (international goes first class international).

Thanks to all who joined so far. Just a reminder if you want to sign up, the deadline will be October 3rd. I will be out of town from Sept 29-Oct 2 and will respond to any e-mails after returning. :) I will be placing a glitter order on Oct 4th for the final share orders.

WHEW! I am SPARKLY!

Step Away From the Pumpkins, Jody!

No, really... step away from the Penny Black pumpkins. LOL I am just LOVING it! LOL How about I make ALL my cards this month with this stamp? LOL NO... I promise I will step away very soon, maybe not quite yet... but soon! :)

As for the sewing, I cannot make the same promise. I am mildly obsessed. LOL Have you gotten a Janome sewing machine yet? If not... WHY NOT? I LOVE that little thing! It is a purchase I do not regret.

For this card, I put a tiny piece of adhesive down for the back layer and then sewed around it leaving an edge of patterned paper for me to pull up a little on the edges. I used the same lovely May Arts ruffled ribbon. Watch for that as part of a share in October. :) I also have some great other ribbons in the line-up. :) I used my quickie glue pen to outline a few parts of the pumpkins. Then I dumped some Art Institute pumpkin glitter (part of my current opaque share). Then, I grabbed a clean sponge and wiped away the "chunky" parts of the glitter leaving only smooth lines of glitter just to add a little bling to my card.

Another one for the "set"

L to R: Nathan 13, Bailey 10, Madeline 7

As you may have noticed I am a "set" stamper. Once I have chosen colors, I tend to make several cards in the same color scheme/theme/stamp set. While I have everything out for the color combo, I like to make several cards (2 or more) using everything while it is out. I feel it more efficient (I am a BIG multitask-er) and why take out all that stuff to just make one card? I almost *never* make more than one of a card either. That is boooooooring to me. I may change up the layout a little, choose different embellishments or change the cards in other ways to make them all one of a kind. You should try it. :) You get a lot more accomplished without having to change wavelengths constantly. :)

My daughter, Bailey is turning 10 today! She REALLY appreciates hand stamped cards and LOVES to stamp so I decided to make her a special card. :)

A funny story about Bailey: a couple days ago she made a card. It was heart alphabet stamps on glossy white card stock and she had blurred her stamping a bit. To cover it up, she drew around each heart with a marker. She came to me and asked me if her card was nice. Of course I told her it was. She looked at me, squinted her eyes and said, "MOM, you KNOW this card is ugly!! Why did you say it was nice, MOM this card is NOT nice. I am throwing it away!" LOL She is very hard on herself when she stamps. I am proud of her for her quality control. LOL Silly girl!

I made sure not to blur any of my images and I hope it's up to par for her. :)

More Pumpkins

I had to stamp one more card with my new stamp tonight. :)

This time I filled in some of the blank spaces by using my aquapainter to pull the color to the empty spots immediately after stamping while the ink was still wet. I think I prefer it shaded like this. I LOVE this new stamp. *drool* LOL

I also used my new May Arts ruffled ribbon. I *may* do a share with it in October. :)

It is late and my eyes are crossing, so I am off to bed now. :) I am looking forward to stamping some more tomorrow. I have the bug now. LOL

Fall Pumpkins

Today is color challenge day on splitcoaststampers. It has been a while since I have participated, so I thought I would jump in and ink up one of my new stamps. YAY! I ordered the AWESOME Penny Black pumpkins in the moonlight stamp from my LSS and got it just a few days ago.

The colors are:

Really Rust

Chocolate Chip
River Rock

Glitter Share NOW OPEN!

Glitter? YES! Glitter rocks... well actually glitter sparkles, but you know what I mean! LOL

I found the BEST, highest quality, ultrafine glitter! It is the "May Arts" of the glitter world. :) This is Art Institute Glitter by Barbara Trombley. It is SO sparkly, so ultrafine and just SO beautiful! It comes in a TON of colors! I splurged and got myself a nice collection several months ago and I LOVE it. :) This month instead of getting tangled in ribbon, lets walk around with glitter all over our faces. LOL

The Ultrafine Transparent gives a sheer effect. You can layer it over stamped images and some of your color shows through from behind.

The Ultrafine Opaque offers bright, jewel-tone colors. This variety gives nice coverage.

My favorite glitter adhering methods are: heat and stick powder, quickie glue pen (my favorite), crystal effects or a Glue Pad.

You can even make your own EMBOSSING POWDER! Just get some clear embossing powder and mix in your favorite glitter. You can experiment with colored embossing powders as well! I LOVE sparkly embossing powder!

Here are the details:

This glitter comes in pre-packaged sets of 42, 1/4 ounce pots with screw on lids (just as pictured above). There are 3 varieties: transparent, opaque or half and half (half transparent, half opaque). Each assortment comes with several shades of pinks, reds, oranges, yellows/golds, greens, purples, blues and there is also whites/blacks/silvers.

It is the PERFECT time for glitter! Make sparkly pumpkins, glittering ornaments, dazzling Christmas cards or of course incorporate it into your everyday stamping projects.

I am offering these at a GREAT discount of their retail price. I am also offering half shares. For the half shares I will open up the pre-packaged assortment and split it while still making sure that each participant gets a great variety.

Coffee Confirmed

Remember this post where I shared a cool deal for a FREE Senseo coffee maker with you?

http://confessionsofaribbonaddict.blogspot.com/2007/08/like-coffee.html

I just wanted to share that at least one blog reader participated and has received her coffee maker. Woohoo Laura!:

http://lu-lascorner.blogspot.com/2007/09/1-for-those-of-you-that-joined-my.html

I clicked on the link and it still seems to be a valid offer still. Again, I do not benefit in any way from you doing this. I DID participate, paid $15 shipping and received my $70 Senseo coffee maker so I know it is legit. :)

I always tell my kids: sharing is caring. LOL SO, I am sharing. :) Good luck with getting your free coffee maker and if you participated the last time I posted the link I'd love to hear that you got your coffee maker. :)

When it Rains I Post

No really... it rained today. :) I felt a few sprinkles when I was walking the girls home from school. :)

This is a card I made for this week's color challenge on SCS hosted by Emily. I am several days late getting it posted. I used my new flower set by Paper Trey. It was a gift from a local friend, Dora who TOTALLY spoiled me on my birthday. Thank you, Dora for all you do for me. :) HUGS!
Yes, I sewed on the card. "sew" what! LOL I can't help it! :) Real stitching is the new faux stitching... right? LOL Seriously, if you don't have a little Janome yet, what are you waiting for? It is AWESOME and SO SO fun! If I can do, anyone can. LOL :)
