Friendship Quilt

I made this card for this week's color combo challenge on SCS. The colors were:
  • Pink Pirouette (or pretty in pink)

  • Kiwi Kiss (or old olive)

  • Chocolate Chip

For not having much stamping on it, this card took me forever to make! First I punched a bunch of 1 1/4" squares to use as my quilt squares. Then I had to arrange them the way I wanted them. NOT an easy task! LOL I decided to make it easier on myself, I would run my entire piece of brown card stock through my Xyron machine. I adhered all the squares on the brown mat leaving a tiny border of adhesive showing. I dipped all the edges in Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I then stitched between all the quilt squares and all the way around the edge.

I still had my polyshrink out and it was calling my name so I made a thread and scissor charm out of it. :) I tied it on the kiwi ribbon with a piece of thread. The sentiment was stamped, die cut with my Nesties and adhered to the quilt.

When I showed my hubby the card, his response was, "WOW, that was a lot of work!" Awwwww I'll take that as a compliment! LOL

I don't think I'll take up REAL quilting...

Scandinavian Christmas in PINK

I made this card for this week's SKETCH CHALLENGE on SCS!

The focal image is stamped in Versamark and clear embossed. Then, I sponged chocolate ink over it. The back mat is stamped with CHF houndstooth and wheeled with the matching wheel for Scandinavian Christmas. I roughed up the edges of the card stock by smashing it with my fingers. I rubbed some transparent shimmery chalk over the entire panel to add some glitz.
Stamps: Scandinavian Christmas and wheel (SU), CHF Houndstooth Scrapblock
Ink: Versamark, chocolate chip, pink p
Paper: PTI white, brown, pink p textured card stock
Accessories: pink ribbon (SU), Swarovski bezel crystals, dimensional boosters, red line tape, Janome sewing machine, crystal effects

Stress Free

Stress free? THAT would be nice! :)

I need to send MYSELF this card in December. LOL

This set is available HERE from MFT!

Image was colored with Copic markers. Swarovski crystals (walmart) were glued on with Crystal effects (use a TINY dab because glue gushing out from the crystals is a NO NO). LOL Chair is paper pieced using patterned paper.

Ink: Memento Black, Versamark

Paper: white, black, rust, Haiku patterned paper (SU)

Accessories: Swarovski crystals, heidi swapp ghost shape star, silver brad, SU ribbon, Janome sewing machine, Copic markers, crystal effects liquid adhesive

REMINDER: I am still taking orders for this month's STICKY SALE and RIBBON SHARE .

Celebrate MFT Day!

Every 20th is Celebrate MFT Day!

What does that mean? Well, grab your MFT stamps and make something. :) If you REALLY want to show your MFT spirit, you can celebrate in MFT signature colors: pink, black and white.
If you want the chance to win a $5 MFT gift certificate, head on over to the MFT Forum and post a link to your "Celebrate MFT Day" creation in your on-line gallery OR on your blog. :) Click HERE to be directed to the thread. You can leave your link as well as view other stampers creations!

This 20th, I am celebrating in STYLE! Shoe style that is! If you know me, you know I am NOT big on shoes! LOL I have a pair of Skecher Flip Flops (adorned with Swarovski crystals heehee) that I wear most of the time. It's me. I am a capris and plain shirt type of girl. I rarely dress up and don't have the most "prestigious" collection of shoes! LMBO! As a matter the fact, I would rather spend my money on shoe STAMPS than shoes themselves. So... when I was stamping with this set I was chuckling to myself and felt like a bit of an imposter! I hope you shoe loving girls will forgive me for it! LOL I wish I could have lined the shelves with flip flops, now THAT would have been me!

Anyway, back to the project... I made the card first and decided I was in a brad mood. LOL I used lots of them. Brads make me happy and when you have a plethora of them laying around, you can use 13 on a card and not even wince! *wink* I colored the image with Copic markers. Afterward, I was figuring out my layout and realized it... I had broken a JODY RULE. I used WHITE card stock with patterned paper that was IVORY! *GASP* Know how I fixed it? I colored every inch of white with a Copic marker (E50) and now it is ivory! *whew* Crisis averted!

After I made the card, I decided to make an altered tin. This tin used to house Pampered Chef fruity tea. Confession: I have about 6 of these tins and I need to use them! Confession #2, I bought so MUCH of this tea that I got tired of it and ended up throwing it away after it sat in my pantry for a couple years! EEK! I wrapped the tin in the same patterned paper I used on the card and then used my Nestabilities to cut some circles for the top of the tin. I added lots of brads (19 to be exact) to keep with the braddy theme. I wanted to tie in the ribbon from the card (no pun intended), but wanted something hanging from the ribbon. Then I remembered... POLYSHRINK! I saw AmyR use it recently so it was fresh on my mind! (BTW, have you seen Amy's new stamp line? She used her new stamps in the blog post I linked to. Go check them out!) I made 3 polyshrink gogo boots (which I would never wear IRL BTW) and attached them with a package of these ball thingies I found in my "silver" embellishment drawer. FUN! :)

Ink: Memento black, versamark

Paper: SU patterned paper (Haiku), artichoke, PTI white, saffron, black

Accessories: polyshrink, brads, dimensional boosters, SU ribbon, jump rings, keychain thingy, black floss, Copic markers

Beaded Bag Photo Tutorial

Hi everyone! :) This evening, I bring you a sneak peek of what is coming in tomorrow's STICKY SALE. As I mentioned before, I am offering FOUR new sticky products to choose from. This tutorial will show you one of the many ways to use one of the newest products: STICKY SHEET.

STICKY SHEETs are 9" X 12" and are lined with a punchable liner! The STICKY SHEETS can be used with hand held punches as well as dies. With the huge number of punches, dies and die cutting machines out there I knew this would be an excellent addition to the sticky product line-up! The very first thing that popped into my head was a beaded handbag!

I will give you more details on these sticky sheets tomorrow (October 15th) with the new STICKY SALE. Until then, I leave you with a photo tutorial on how to make your very own beaded bag!
