Pure Innocence Gift Set

It makes me SO happy when kids appreciate crafts! My daughter, Madeline, has a friend named Meg, who takes an interest in my card & gift making. When she is over at our house and I am in my stamp room, I'll often catch her peering in and she always has nice things to say about my projects (so sweet). When Madeline received a birthday party invitation from her, I decided to make part of her gift.

I started with a clear card box and added a band around it, as well as a decorative panel for the front. Inside, I added 4 cards (all different), plus 4 envelopes, so she can send out letters to friends or family. I know she likes to do this, because one time, Madeline received a letter in the mail from her. LOL (she lives 1/2 mile away)

I was in pink, black and white mode and decided to continue on and make her some personalized wooden blocks spelling out her name. Of course I used my favorite alphabet, Bling 'bet, and some (and by some, I mean over 50) Swarovski crystals.

After those were done, I figured I would make a tag for the gift bag. And YES... I used REAL Swarovski crystals. (note to self: order more crystals ASAP)

Here is her gift, all jazzed up and ready to go. I even stamped her name on the envelope to keep it all matchy-matchy.

Paper: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Black, White, SU patterned paper (retired pack)
Accessories: Copic markers, Copic airbrush, Swarovski crystals, SU ribbon, silver brads, paper piercer & mat, Tag die, black chipboard, cuttlebug folder, red line dimensionals, red line tape, various punches, Nestabilities, heart ghost shape

Thank for your responses for the last question of the day. I got some good ideas and am ready to stuff my stockings. :)

Today's question of the day is: With school letting out soon for Christmas break, what are some activities that you plan to do with your kids to keep them entertained?

I'll go first. :)
  • Take them to The Bouncing Place. It is a business that has a bouncy house, obstacle course and slide in it. The kids go crazy jumping and always have fun with the other kids that are there.
  • Bailey and Madeline's Cozy Christmas Party. The day after school lets out, we will be hosting a party for the girl's friends. We will watch Christmas movies, play games, do Christmas crafts and have a stocking exchange. I have committed to 12-8 (if you would have seen their puppy dog eyes, you would have said yes, too) so we have a full day of festivities to prepare for. It should be fun!
  • Go to the theater. I think Alvin & The Chipmunks is on the agenda...
  • Sleepovers are sure to be in my future...
I am getting tired just thinking about all those things. LOL OK... your turn. :)

  1. Wow!!! Talk about BLING!!!! Fantastic! Looks like I need Bling Bet soon. As for going to that bouncy place again, not me! I'd get another headache. I've got two teenagers who think the 2+inches of who knows what never needs to be cleaned off of the floor in their rooms so the smell goes away...guess what they're doing for Christmas break?? ;) I know mean mommy. Otherwise, for yours; how many books can they read maybe?

Not sure what we have planned as of yet for vacation! Hubby broke his foot so he's a bit limited in how much he can do!!

  4. Jody, this set is over-the-top gorgeous!!! Meg will surely be thrilled to receive it!

I love the Cozy Christmas party idea! I might have to "borrow" it for my girls!! Caroline's birthday is tomorrow (15th), so we'll probably have a belated party for her during Christmas break. I'm thinking Jump Zone or Alvin & the Chipmunks will be on our agenda, too... ;)

  5. Oh my goodness! What a fabulous gift set! I'm sure Meg is going to LOVE it...I think I can hear her squealing now!!! LOL!

Since I'm working now(first time in 10 years) I had to figure out what to do with Chloe until Brian is off for Christmas break. Luckily where I work we have a community room where someone does cooking classes. They had three for kids aged 6 to 12 so I've registered her for those. She's looking forward to three days of cooking!

  8. Try trampoline or gymnastics schools, they often do parties, drop in play time or sessions during breaks. My son is going to a party at a circus school!

  11. Wow! What a cute and darling gift set. You have lucky little girls. When you are sooo tired remember that they grow up all too soon and they'll be making their own plans. Enjoy them. I've been there and now get to enjoy my grandson. (However, I have to brave the holiday crowds to go 2000 miles) Maybe I'd rather play with some girls?

  17. That is beautiful! Is it sad that I'm 30 yrs old and *I* want some blocks in my name? lol

That would be cute for a nursery too.

I think it's adorable for a little girl to have her own note cards! ;-)
