Nuts About You!

My super talented friend, Carole, made a card using a TCP stamp set, Happy Camper, before it was released and as SOON as I saw her project, I had to have the stamp set! As soon as it was available, I purchased it... but didn't find the time to use it right away. Then, Carole had to post THIS amazing card and that was a visual reminder to get the set inky! SO... finally... I made a card with it! YAY!

I started with Jen's SFYTT, but had to sway a bit as I could not find a way to place the 3 embellishments. Not to worry though... I made another card that will be posted in a couple days that fits the sketch to a T! :)
Here is a peek at the inside:
Stamps: Happy Camper
Ink: Memento black, celery
Paper: K & company patterned paper, celery, chocolate, white
Accessories: Copic markers, Janome Sew Mini, burlap flower Prima, copper brads, red line dimensionals, glue dots, oval punch, scalloped oval punch
Have a GREAT day! :)

i'm here for you... butterflies

These little stacked chickies are so cute!  I made this card with my Unity KOTM.

The image is stamped in Memento black and colored with Copic markers.  I drew in the ground with W4 and W5.  I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge Sketch #57 for this card.
The inside is decorated with just a small strip of patterned paper that matches the outside of the card:
Stamps: Unity KOTM
Paper: saffron, black, white, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: black brads, Janome sew mini, Copic markers, corner rounder, red line dimensionals
Here is one more card for today:
I used a Unity KOTM for this card.  The butterflies are stamped in Memento black and colored with Copic markers.  I adhered clear glitter to all the wings with my Quickie Glue Pen.  They are shadowed using the newest BG0000 Copic marker (along with BG10 and 0).  I struggled with the layout on this one and finally opted for super simple.  The paper combo was so busy that if I added one more thing, it felt like a game of Jenga with all the pieces falling all over the place uncontrollably!  LOL  I would show you a peek inside, but the stitching went a little wonky and I am HIDING it from you!  Mwahahahahahaha  Instead, here is a close up of one of the sparkly butterflies. :)
Stamps: Unity KOTM
Paper: saffron, black, white, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: circle cut out mat, silver brads, clear glitter, red line dimensionals, Janome sew mini, Copic markers

Sweet Cherries

I made this card using my Unity KOTM. The frame is a chipboard Sizzix die cut (Brackets XL die).
I popped up the frame and cherries using red line dimensionals. The cherries were stamped in Memento black and colored with Copic markers.
Here is a peek inside, where I added a sentiment and the cherry stamped in riding hood red.
Stamps: Unity KOTM
Ink: Memento black, riding hood red
Paper: riding hood red, black, Sweet Slumber SU, white
Accessories: brads, Janome sew mini, SU ribbon, red line dimensionals, SU brads, EK Success edge punch, Sizzix die (brackets XL Bigz), Nesties, Copic markers

Ice Cream

Are you sick of seeing Sweet Slumber patterned paper yet?  I hope not!  :)  I have a few more days of blogging using this paper, so hang in there with me!  LOL  It is just SO fun and I could not get enough of it!

The ice cream cone was stamped in Memento Cocoa and colored with Copic markers.  I stamped it 3 times and layered it for a more dimensional look.
I used Taylor's Cupcake Challenge 59 sketch for this card.
Here is a peek at the inside:
Paper: blue, chocolate, white, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: copper brads, white ribbon, white pom pom ribbon, Copic markers, Janome sew mini, red line dimensionals, Nesties
Hope you have a SWEET day!  :)

Home is where the heart is

Yesterday, I showed you the card I made using Lori Craig's sketch HERE.  This is the FIRST card I
attempted with the sketch. :)  I started with the cute image from Unity, but I could not scoot over that panel far enough to the left to make it work for the sketch (even though I made it a 5 1/2" square card), so I had to sway and came up with this instead.

It's a little more "centered" than I prefer, but I had to finish this card!  LOL  The little row of houses is just the cutest!  :)  I used my handy dandy bow thingy to make the bow.  I mixed lots of patterns in this card... I hope it doesn't make you dizzy!  LOL
A peek inside at the cute sentiment:
Stamps: Unity Pixie Lane and KOTM
Paper: blue, black, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: silver brads, Janome sew mini, SU ribbon, Nesties, red line dimensionals, Copic markers
Have a GREAT day!

We grow great by dreams.

Lori Craig issued a weekend sketch challenge and I made this card using her sketch. :)

This was a great sketch for a card that focuses on a small image or sentiment.  I chose this sentiment from one of my CHF sets.  I toyed with the idea of stamping flowers on the background panels, but opted for this fun cloud paper instead.  I thought it was fitting for the sentiment!
Here is a peek inside:
Stamps: CHF sentiment
Ink: Memento black
Paper: blue, black, white, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: corduroy brads, silver brads, oval punch, scalloped oval punch, red line dimensionals, Janome sew mini, SU ribbon, SU felt flowers
CHA count down: 5 days til departure!  EEEEEEEK!  So much to do, so little time to do it in.

Remember the moments...

Hello all!  I have been busy busy busy in my stamp room!  :)

Here is another card using my new Unity stamps. :)

The owl image was stamped in Riding Hood Red and the sentiment was stamped in Memento black.  I added tint 2mm Swarovski crystals to the owls eyes and some of the feather dots.  The bracket shape is a piece of covered chipboard that I cut out using a Sizzix die.
Ready for a peek inside?
Ink: riding hood red, memento black
Paper: blue, black, white, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: SU silver brad, silver brads, 2mm Swarovski crystals, Janome sew mini, ribbon, felt flower, red line dimensionals, Sizzix die (brackets)

friends for life

Happy Anniversary to me... happy anniversary to me... happy anniversary dear Jody (and hubby), happy anniversary to me. :) Today is my TENTH wedding anniversary. WOWZERS! We will more than likely celebrate the day with dinner out (with 3 kiddos) and will probably save the movie portion of our typical date for Friday, when a movie comes out that hubby has been SO wanting to see (The Hurt Locker).

Do you read Jen del Muro's blog? I do. :) Every Saturday she posts a SFYTT (sketch for you to try) and they are GREAT sketches! This week I actually played within a couple days (YAY me-ala London Tipton... don't know what I am talking about? You must not have young girls in the house LOL).

Here is my soft and subtle friends for life card:

You can find Jen's sketch HERE.

I once again played with my new Unity stamps. I have a big ol' pile that need to be used, so it's going to be a Unity kind of a week.

The flowers were stamped in Memento black and colored with Copic markers. I used a Quickie Glue pen and went over the centers of the flowers and then added clear glitter to make them sparkle. The light shadowing was done with my BG0000, BG10 and my colorless blender. I used the yummy Sweet Slumber paper from SU that Joanne "made" me buy. :) I hope you're a fan of it, because I went a little CRAZY with the paper pack and made lots of cards with it. :)

My friend Karen says that the newest trend is to finish the inside of stamped cards.... good thing I finished this one. LOL Of course she won't see this reference to her, because she doesn't READ my blog posts! heehee
You won't believe this, but I have SEVEN more cards stamped and ready to blog about. YAY me for being ahead! I am trying to get ahead of the game so I can have plenty to post even when I am at CHA! :) Who is going to CHA? Mememememememememememememe! If you're going, see you there! I will likely be in the MFT booth the majority of the time, so make sure to stop by and say hi! :)
Ink: Memento black
Paper: white, saffron, black, Sweet Slumber SU dp
Accessories: Janome sew mini, copic markers, circle punches, clear glitter, Quickie Glue Pen, silver brads, red line dimensionals, saffron ribbon
Have a GREAT day!

Perfect Pear

I made this card with my June Unity KOTM perfect in every way.  The image was stamped in Memento Cocoa and colored with Copic markers.  I used a piece of ribbon with colorless blender squirted on it to create texture on the tree trunk and grass.  I used the Ric Rac Grosgrain ribbon available HERE.
I decorated the inside by stamping, coloring and cutting out one of the pears and then using the sentiments included in the kit to say: Perfect Pear.  I am may give this to my hubby for our upcoming anniversary.  :)
Ink: Memento cocoa, kiwi
Paper: kiwi, brown, SU dp, white
Accessories: Copic markers, Janome sew mini, red line dimensionals, ric rac grosgrain, copper brads, circle punch, scalloped circle punch, pen and ruler (to draw in ground), colorless blender (Copic), kiwi ribbon

Giggle Tree

Here is another card using my new Unity stamps!

I used a combination of punches paper circles, buttons and brads to embellish the tree.  I used an old sketch by Taylor (not sure which one) for this card.
Here is a peek at the inside:
Stamps: Burberry Tree, Tiny Giggle Grove
Ink: Memento black
Paper: summer sun, black, SU dp, white, blue
Accessories: kiwi ribbon, summer sun button, kiwi brad, silver brad SU, oval punch, scalloped oval punch, red line dimensionals, black twine, silver brads, Janome sew mini, Copic markers, circle punch

*giggle

I have a confession: I am no longer a Unity virgin! :) LOL I have placed a couple orders with Unity in the past month and I have finally found time to use them!  :)

This is my first card ever with Giggle Grove.  I love the trees paper pieced.  I REALLY wanted to add ribbon or embellishments to this card, but the layout just wasn't working with it, so I went simple, but added lots of layers and dimension with red line dimensional boosters.
I wanted to use one of the cute little birds somewhere, so I decided to decorate the inside:
In other news, I received the first of 2 ribbon shipments last night and started cutting and bundling as I watched Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana with my kids. :)  I added a couple pictures to the ribbon for sale page HERE to show all the colors included in the ruffled ribbon and 3/8" grosgrain bundles. I am expecting the other shipment in a couple days.  If you'd like to place an order for any of the 6 ribbons being offered this month, click HERE to be directed to the ribbon for sale page.  Here is a peek at two of the newest ribbon bundles:

card details:
Stamps: Tiny Giggle Grove
Ink: Memento black
Paper: blue, black, SU dp, white
Accessories: oval punch, scalloped oval punch, nesties, red line dimensionals
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Dainty & Dirty

I made this card for this week's MFT "My Favorite Challenge".  The challenge is to add texture to your card!

I decided to go for a mix of dainty and dirty to add texture!  On the back, white layer, I added a coat of Ranger's crackle paint and let it dry as I was coloring my Annie LaPoint image.  It adds some texture and dimension without over-powering the dainty image.
For the ground under the wheelbarrow, I used an Eclipse masking panel and ripped it.  After laying it down over my image, I sponged creamy caramel ink onto my paper and the result was my dirt pile.  I also used my Tonic paper distresser to rip up the edges of my white card stock layers and then rolled them with my fingers to feather the card stock.  If you use a high-quality card stock, it will start to seperate and gives a really cool effect.  I also pulled up the edges of my patterned paper and ripped it up a little.
The sentiment that comes with the set: Spread a Harvest of Hope, was begging to be used, but was throwing my card off balance, so once again, I decorated the inside of my card. :)  I even decided to pull in the fun gingham ribbon I used on the front of the card and added a button.  While it is not CONVENTIONAL to use embellishments on the inside of your card, it is FUN!  :)  I rarely am able to mail my cards in a regular envelope for $.44 (actually more like NEVER), so I don't pay much attention to how thick (or heavy) my cards get.  Padded envelopes will hold your thick, heavy, bulky cards just fine!  LOL
I hope you'll hop over to the MFT forum and play along in the challenge!  (look for the week 8 challenge)  You could win $10 in MFT Money!  :)
Stamps: Spread a Harvest of Hope MFT
Ink: Memento cocoa
Paper: pink, brown, white, basic grey
Accessories: ribbon, copper brads, Janome sew mini, copic markers, sponge, eclipse masking panels, ranger crackle paint, red line dimensionals, button
By the way... I added another new May Arts ribbon to the ribbon for sale page HERE.  Check out this FUN and unique ribbon!  :)  Each bundle comes with TEN colors!  All 5 ribbons are on order and will be shipping out in about a week!  Place your order today to reserve your spot!  :)

Have a wonderful day!

Feelin' Fruity

Hello all!  Here are 2 cards I made with the stamp set, Feelin' Fruity!
The images were stamped in Black Memento and colored with Copic markers.  I added some teeny weeny brads (coming to MFT soon) to the bows and stems on the fruit and matted them with a Circle Cut-out Mat in Black Chipboard available HERE.  I used my bow maker thingy that I bought HERE to make the bow.
I toyed with adding a sentiment to the front of the card, but it wasn't working out, so I decorated the inside. :)
I just love the sentiment: friendship is organically grown
Here is a close-up peek at those cute little faces:
This card was made for a challenge issued by my friend, Michele, on SCS for the Ways to Use it Weekly Challenge.  She is a guest host today for Julia Stainton.  Also participating today is the super-fab Susan!  The challenge can be found in THIS forum (look for the most recent date).  It is to use two of something!
I decided to use 2 of the cute little apples.  I paper pieced them using some PTI patterned paper.  The layout is from Lauren Meader (not sure which sketch number it is).  :)  With these cute little faces, I think less is more... so I kept the embellishments to a minimum (well... I don't know if anyone considers 10 brads and two types of ribbon a MINIMUM, but it is simplistic LOL).
I hope you'll hop on over to the challenge and give it a shot... or TWO. *wink*
Paper: red, black, white, PTI patterned paper
Accessories: ribbon, brads, black circle cut-out mat, red line dimensionals, Copic markers, Janome sew mini, ric rac ribbon, teeny weeny brads

Blog Hoppin'

Hi all and welcome to the MFT mid-month release BLOG HOP!

If you are just happening upon the blog hop, make sure you click over to Kim's blog so you can start at the beginning and see all the adorable projects using the three new stamp sets. You'll have a chance to win one of the newly released stamp sets!

There are 3 brand new sets that are released NOW! You can check them out HERE!

  • Bubble Bunny
  • Feelin' Fruity
  • Spread a Harvest of Hope
My card uses Bubbly Bunny and was inspired by my friend, Michele (who you just visited), who made the made the most ADORABLE card with two bunnies in the tub! It got me on the wavelength of bunnies and romance and spurred this idea of boy Flopsey sweetly laying on the floor next to the tub where girl Flopsey is relaxing. He is reading to her as she relaxes! LOL She also inspired my "scene" which uses a table from the Window Shopping stamp set. Have I mentioned that I L-O-V-E Bubble Bunny! :)
I decorated the inside too! :)
Ready to make like Bubble Bunny and HOP to your next destination?
Jessie is waiting for you with some fun eye candy!
Paper: BG patterned paper, white, brown
Accessories: Copic markers, Janome sew mini, white may arts ribbon, bow easy, Diamond Glaze (for the bubbles), smooch paints (for the wine glasses), red line dimensionals
