Is that how you spell that? LOL
I wanted to share a couple cards I came up with last night! The first 12 times I looked at that set Zoofari in the preview brochure from Stampin Up, I thought it was absolutely hideous! I balked at it even! LOL Well, one night when I was placing a Stampin Up order I needed to add something to bump up my order. Since it's so late in the catalog year I have everything I want and then some. Heck, I have TWO of most things. LOL SO.... the animals called out to me and said BUY ME. I shrugged and entered the number into the ordering system. A week later they showed up on my doorstep and I thought, "OMG, they are so cute, but what was I thinking?" Well, a friend came over to stamp for a while last night and she fell in love with Zoofari, so I went ahead and mounted it so we could use it. I set out to make an elegant zoofari card which seemed a tall order. LOL This is the card I came up with. I REALLY like it. I am confused... puzzled... and well... STILL have no idea why I bought this set, but I'm glad I did. These cute little animals suckered me in! LOL The other card is my patterned Rhino and I think he is rather dashing! I guess the moral of this story is:
Don't write off a stamp set that you first find hideous. There is beauty even in strange little animals. LOL
How cute, those cards are adorable, sometimes a set will sneak up on you.
ReplyDeleteLove the Rhino card, it's so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh no. I was absolutely not getting zoofari... love my monkey business, love my wild about you, didn't need it. Now I've changed my mind again. argh! Very cute!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness! I had set my mind against Zoofari. I have Monkey Business and figured I'd get Wild About You (since In the Wild is retiring), but NOW you've gone and made me start thinking! LOL!
ReplyDeleteCute rhino card! I, too, was very set against these stamps. But this is a great card. Maybe the bright colors make him "work".
ReplyDeleteJodi, again you floor me with your faux stitching is the best i really have to see it up close to see its faux. and the rhino i luv him so cute and sophisticated....hugs
ReplyDeleteI felt much the same way about that set, but I will grudgingly concede your point now that I see your adorable rhino card. There are possibilities with every set, aren't there. And sometimes the "nicest" stamps are the hardest ones to make anything from! Or is that just me!
ReplyDeleteGreat card - thanks for posting!
I was definitely NOT going to get this one.....until I came upon the "twisted" thread on SCS. OH MY! Funny, funny stuff. So, I decided I'd probably get it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, your darling cards have convinced me and sealed the deal.
I'm getting this set!
Now, a question:
Where did you get the bright paper for the rhino card? I'm a tie-dye person and LOVE it!
chat w/you soon.
Cheers,
Stacy
Stacy, it is Basic Grey Phoebe paper. :)
ReplyDeleteThese cards are wonderful! I love the Basic Grey paper on the rhino. Too cute!! :)
ReplyDeleteJody, love the last card! I have that paper too and would have never thought to use it in that way!
ReplyDeleteKim
These are fabulous--great job!
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletei feel the same way about zoofari. thanks for showing off some other ways to use the set! I love that paper, too!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful cards! I think this set will work it's little way into the hearts of stampers. The images are just so happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jody -- I need to find some of that paper!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Stacy
