EEK! Halloween!

Recently I was sent a sample of some cards made at one of Janet Wakeland's stamp events. I had never seen anything like this layout and went right to work creating one of my own.

Here are the steps to this card:

  • cut a piece of CS to 8 1/2 X 5 1/2

  • score at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8

  • cut each flap into a triangle. (lining up a center mark and the score line where the card folds works best for me) It doesn't have to be *perfect*. The seam will be covered by a focal image.

  • use your SU slit punch to make a slit on the back panel of the card base.

  • work on a front panel for your card. (mine is 4 X 2 3/4)

  • Use sticky strip (red tape) to tape your main panel over the 2 triangular flaps on your card base. Make sure to mark how far up your focal panel will go and place adhesive on the flaps, not your focal image.

  • Now make an insert for your card. This piece will slide into your card base, under your focal point and will rest in the slit punch you made on your card base. (I used a black piece and added a tab for help with pulling it out)

Stamps: Booglie Eyes spider, Party Punch

Inks: Stazon black

Papers: SU Creepy Crawly designer paper, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White

Accessories: SU mini library clips, heat and stick powder, versamarker, black twine, black brads, Janome sewing machine, slit punch, Rounded tab punch, Basic Grey button (mellow collection), red tape, black Fun Flock, white gel pen

Note: The "sentiments" on this card are part of the SU Creepy Crawly designer paper pack.
