I am sure you are looking at this card and wondering what in the world it has to do with cake? :) This challenge is hosted by Jenn Balcer. It is an inspiration challenge and the inspiration piece is a super beautiful cake. It inspired me to make this card (which I am in love with).

When I went into my stamp room, I went right for my stash of black and white doodlebug patterned paper. I wanted to replicate the 3 tiers of the cake with 3 different patterned papers. I stamped the flower image on linen vellum and stitched it to a piece of black. The 3 pieces of patterned paper were adhered to the black panel and then stitched as well. Everything was popped up using black dimensional boosters. I used the new fuzzy dot ribbon (lovin' it on this card!). I attached the sentiment with a cool little embellishment by Heidi swapp. I am not sure what they are called because I do not have them in the original packaging, but it is a little clip that has a part you can fold over. I used it to hang the sentiment from. In the open area, I adhered a swarovski crystal. Sentiment is by Verve and was punched using the SU word window punch. I LOVE the new color Kiwi Kiss that will be released in the upcoming new Stampin' Up catalog! It is LUCIOUS!
I hope you all will stop by the challenge forum on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ to participate.
Have a wonderful day!
