Magnetic Cupcake

I started with a magnetic tag from MFT. They are super cool. There is a magnet hidden behind paper that wraps the tag. It keeps the front and back closed. It is the perfect space for a gift card (or some cash). I enjoy altering it. :)

I decided to make a pink, black and white creation. This has been one of my favorite color combos since I started stamping. :)

The cupcakes (What's Up Cupcake-MFT) were stamped with Memento black ink and then colored in with Copic markers. The frosting and sprinkles were stamped with pretty in pink. A pink Swarovski crystal was added to the top of each cupcake.

I cut the sentiment apart and used it as shown. The sentiment comes as one long piece. Again, don't be afraid to cut your acrylic sentiments. It's a lot easier than masking! :)

I finished off this project with lots of beautiful ribbon from May Arts and a glittery Prima flower.

Stamps: MFT What's Up Cupcake
Paper: pink pirouette, black, PTI white
Ink: memento black, pink pirouette, pretty in pink
Accessories: copic markers, may arts ribbon, Prima, circle punches, Swarovski crystals, black dimensional boosters, magnetic tag from MFT, paper piercer, white gel pen

  1. This is wonderful, Jody, but I would be afraid to put a gift card into a magnetized holder, for fear the magnet would erase the data strip on the gift card. Have you had this experience? Any advice? Thanks.
