Trio of Snowmen

*Sticky Sale and Ribbon Share will go LIVE TOMORROW, October 15th!
I LOVE snowmen and this new mini set from MFT is no exception. I LOVE that there are 3 snowmen. It makes me think of my munchkins. :) It is called A Scarf for Three (click to purchase).

When making this card, I knew I was going to use the new Chillin' paper pack from MFT so that dictated my colors, but I needed something to POP because there was too much white. I had a scrap of black sitting my desk and went with it. This is the exact size it was and I just left it since it worked well to break up the white and draw attention to the image and sentiment. :)

I used a FAB Heidi Swapp ghost shape snowflake (have I mentioned I love those things?)! I got a speck of black ink on one of the snowman's cheeks and was SO annoyed, but it was colored and done so I went to plan B! Stickles on the cheeks. :) It worked. You can't see the black splat and the card is still usable! *whew* It REALLY drives me crazy when I spend so much time coloring an image and then something happens near the end of the process!

I am not typically a "center everything" type of stamper, but it worked with this card. I wanted to show plenty of the patterned paper (which matched SU colors AND copic colors SO well).

Jody RULES:

  • If you have a stitching areas in the corner of your card stock that is unsightly, use some brads to cover it up.

  • If you get a spot of ink somewhere along the way, do your best to conceal it using an embellishment of some sort. In this case, stickles.

  • If you need a little something extra, but don't have the right colored embellishment and don't want to draw attention away from your focal point, go CLEAR! In this case, the ghost shape snowflake.

Stamps: A Scarf for Three

Ink: Memento black

Paper: MFT Chillin' paper pack, SU purple, PTI white, SU black

Accessories: Janome sewing machine, oval punch, silver brads, copic markers, stickles, dimensional boosters
