I have been in the mood for PINK lately. :) I think it's the love in the air with Valentine's Day looming in the near future. :)
I stamped the tree and leaves on Gina K's pure luxury card stock. It is super smooth so it receives the ink very well. Solid stamps love that card stock. :) I did some stitching with my handy dandy Janome sewing machine. :) I added lots of pink Swarovski crystals and a couple buttons threaded with linen thread.
Jody Rules for this card:
- If you use a button, PLEASE don't leave it "naked". Thread some string, floss, hemp or even small strips of paper through it. The holes will be lonely if you don't use them. Stick something through there and secure it with one knot and a glue dot. You can also stitch all the way through the paper to secure it tightly, but I typically use the glue dot method and secure it either with a glue dot or STICKY DOT.
- If you are using a solid stamp, make sure to use smooth paper. There are several to choose from on the market! The ones I have personally used and find acceptable are: Gina K's pure luxury (80 or 120 lb) and SU Whisper White. Of those 2, I prefer Gina's white.
Stamps: Season of Friendship
Ink: Pretty in Pink, close to cocoa craft

Very pretty Jody! And THANK YOU for making the button rule - that's one 'pet peeve' of mine - NO NAKED BUTTONS! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Jody! I think I've been guilty of the naked button thing (gasp!)...but you can bet I'll be thinking twice about it next time and threading something through it, LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo very girly and pretty! I have a friend who loves pink & brown that this would be perfect for.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your pick cards are sooo pretty. Nice job. TFS
ReplyDeleteLove this pink. Such a soft and pretty card. Thanks for the rules, too.
ReplyDeleteSO I was GETTING ready to send you something...but I have to make some changes...ahemmm.LOL!! I honestly never thought about it REALLY, but I do see what you mean(you will see in a few minutes, LOL)!!
ReplyDeleteThis is fabulous! I still have yet to make a card with this set that hasn't ended up in the trash! YOu did such a good job! I had to laugh about naked buttons! I try hard to not leave them naked, but sometimes I am in such a hurry that naked buttons end up on projects. My *issue* is with naked crayons! Ask my kids or the kids at church and they will attest. NO NAked Crayons! LOL! Such a cute card! You have definitely inspired me to pull this set out again and give it a go! I guess I should use it before it is no longer in the mini! TFS
ReplyDeleteI love that pink with the tree. It could even be used in the spring. Stampin Up put this set on dormant list. So disappointed as I think this set can be used in so many ways and holidays. I think we should all write SU suggestions and let them know that we want this stamp set kept in the catalog.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh, this is gorgeous! I never would have thought "pink leaves"! Genius!
