Everything appears more clear...

I was inspired by the sentiment I used for my card.  I saw the word bright and was inspired to make a sun.  The word clear inspired me to use a clear card base.

You may have noticed I have been using some "kraft" colored thread the past several days.  Well... I ran out of my favorite white thread and I am NOT going to use the thin junk I have... so "kraft" it is.  Being that I live in a small town with no craft stores, I had to order some.  Until I receive my order of FOURTEEN SPOOLS (yes, I am serious), I will be using the colors other than white that I have.  It's keeping me from going into full-blown withdrawal.  LOL

I created the sun using some Nestabilities circle dies.  The rays were created free-hand by cutting little wedges and then taping them around the back-side of the circle.

I had a hard time photographing the inside of the card because the clear card stock isn't very pliable.  Here is a peek:

Stamps: Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays
Ink: PTI black
Paper: Kraft, White, Smoky Black, So Saffron, clear card stock
Accessories: Janome sew mini, saffron brads, red line tape, red line dimensionals, ric rac ribbon

  1. Seriously, if only I could hang with you for day or so in hopes that a little of your creativity would rub off on me, I'd be set! Love that sun! Kraft thread? I don't get out much obviously as I've never seen it before! Looks awesome!!

  9. Beautiful card Jody - that sun is just perfect with this sentiment! And I have to agree with others - 14 spools does seem a little excessive - how long will that last?

  12. As I was blog hopping I came across *this* fabulous site! One look at your cards and I subscribed to your feed. You are truly talented. Like Dawn, I wish I could hang with you for a day (or a week) so a bit of that creativity could rub off onto me!

BTW, tell us a bit more about the thread you use. ...the company that makes it, its weight, etc. A link would be nice too! Is it quilting thread?

    Thanks for sharing!
