Hold on, let me save...

Welcome to the MFT Blog Hop & Shop!
The newest sets are released NOW in the MFT Boutique.  If you need to go shop before you read on, I'll wait patiently...

Ok, back?  LOL  What did you get?

If you've happened upon the hop, then you'll want to be sure to go back and start at the beginning at Kim's blog.

My cards tonight use the brand spankin' new stamp set, Who's That Geek Guy?  I just ADORE this stamp set.  The image is awesome and the sentiments for his t-shirt are PERFECT for any guy who is a gamer or a techie.  Since my hubby falls in both those categories, I am thinking this is going to become a "go to" set for me when I need a fun card for him.

Hold on, let me save... I can't tell you HOW many times I have heard that phrase.  Not only from my hubby, buy mt kids too.  Once, my youngest daughter had fallen asleep on the couch after playing on her DS for quite a while that night.  I was picking her up to carry her to bed and she put her hands in a "I'm holding a DS" motion and muttered in her sleep, "hold on, let me save".  HILARIOUS.  We still talk about that.

For this card, I have a couple secrets:
  • I used a large houndstooth print for his shirt, but I told my hubby it was digital camo (shhhhhhh)
  • I used the label strip off the bottom of a piece of MME patterned paper as a useable piece of patterned paper.  See the bracket thing?  That is a part of the label.  Cool, huh?
I kept the embellishing to a minimum.  Guy cards should be two things: 1.) simple 2.) not overly embellished

I snuck some ric rac ribbon on there.  Maybe he won't notice.  LOL

Here is another one using another fun sentiment from the stamp set: Game On.  Hubby thought that one was cool because it his gamer signature or profile thingy... or something like that.  LOL  I think I broke the "do not overly embellish a man card" rule with my 10 brads, button, ribbon, and ribbony bow through the button... oh well... if I attach this card to a blu ray movie or game, he'll look past it, I'm sure.  *wink*

I have one last card before I send you on your way.  Aside from the houndstooth patterned laptop, I think this card is very manly, don't you?  *chuckle*  I mean, I put CORK on there... and he's wearing a green shirt.  LOL  Oh wait, look at that floral tablecloth.  Oh well... I tried.  :)

It's time for me to send you on your way...

Your next stop on the hop is the very talented (and sweet) Melody Rupple.  I am SURE she has something WAY beautiful for you to see, so scoot on over there!  See you soon!
