It's TIME for MFT Teaser Time

Hi everyone and Happy New Year's Eve!

It's time for MFT Teaser Time!  Isn't that EXCITING?  That means in 5 short days, MFT will be having a release, and this month will not disappoint. (trust me)  There are 12 new stamp sets and 6 new Die-namics dies that are to DIE for.  (sorry for the silly pun, I couldn't resist)

Today, we are featuring 2 of the new releases: More Essential Sentiments and Clearly Sentimental about Time.  Both sets work very well for quick and simple cards, and offer a great opportunity to use lots of Die-namics dies.  :)

My first card uses More Essential Sentiments.  The set was designed with larger sentiments, that work well with the NEW Layered Label Die-namics die.  It is a 3 piece die that was designed to stack together, but each piece can also be used separately.  LOVE IT!

Do you see the cute Rolled Roses?  Those were made with the NEW Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics die.  It contains 2 different sizes, and they work well with the original as well.  I am SO excited about this die.  The roses are SO cute and tiny.

There is another new and fabulous die being released that I have fallen head over heels for... the Dainty Lace Border Die-namics die.  It is classy, and not overly old-fashioned.  Love it.  I added a 3 mm Swarovski crystal to each of the lower holes in the die-cut to add some pizazz.

Here is a peek at the fabulous new Layered Label Die-namics die.  It is a VERY nice size and will hold it's own on your card.

Here is my second card, using Clearly Sentimental about Time.  I'm all about anything mushy and sentimental, so this set is right up my alley.  :)

I made a pretty simple card, because I wanted the embellishment to shine.  It was made with the new 3/8" Rosette Die.  It is SO cool.  It is a 6" X 1.5" die that scores every 3/8".  The score lines do NOT cut the paper at all, leaving a nice, polished edge to your rosette.  To create the rosette, I cut the die-cut once, and then cut it in half, so each half was 3/4".  Adhere them end to end, and then "flip" it to create the flower.  Fun, functional, and fantastic.

If you are excited, raise your hand.  :)  So many cool, new products to share!  I can hardly wait for the next four days!  I'll see you tomorrow with another card, but before you go, let me share all the release details with you.

Here are the details about the upcoming release on January 4th at 10 PM EST:

Let's Celebrate

Happy New Year's Eve Eve Eve, everyone!  The new Flapper Doodles, Cheers to a New Year, is very fitting (please humor me lol).

The timing was right for this weeks Wednesday Stamp Club, which is to create a party card.  To play along, head on over to the MFT Forum on SCS in the morning and look for this weeks WSC thread to find out how you can play along for a chance to win a $15 gift voucher.  You can also view a list of design team participants at midnight EST on Kim's blog.  Be sure to head over and see what the rest of the team came up with.

As if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, you MUST visit Kim's blog to find out who the NEW members of the MFT DT and MFT Challenge Team are!  It's SO EXCITING.

I went SUPER simple with this card and left it uncolored.  I wanted to keep the stark black, white, and chartreuse color combo intact, and coloring them would have thrown it off, so I left it as is.  I used a couple Prima flowers as accents, and added a sentiment flag using one of the sentiments that come in the set.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have SO appreciated you reading my blog this past year.  Thanks to those of you who take the time to comment as well.  See you on the flip side.  :)

You'll Be in My Heart

Hi there everyone!  I hope you're having a wonderful week.

My card today uses MFT's Pure Innocence Love You With All My Heart.  She is SO adorable.  I love her hugging the heart.

I wanted it to look like a plush heart and that her hands were kinda sinking into it, so I added a couple layers to the heart to make it stick out around her hands as she was pulling it in toward her.

I used a whole bunch of different patterned papers and slapped them together.  It's a big mixed up rainbow.  Every now and then I walk on the wild side.  LOL

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow.  I have a "change of pace" card to share with you.  :)

HUGS!

Smart Girls...

Hi everyone and welcome to the MFT Who's That Girl Blog Hop and Shop.  If you've just happened upon the hop, you'll want to start at Kim's blog, so you don't miss any of the eye-candy along the way.  ;)

Tonight, we are featuring the new Who's that Girl stamp set, Let's Get Physical.  The stamp set is included in the VIP Collection available tonight.  Let me tell you what you get in the VIP Collection for only $41.90:
  • Let's Get Physical Who's that Girl stamp set
  • Get a Move On mini stamp set FREE (exclusive to the VIP and will never be offered for sale or again)
  • Layered Label Die-namics die
Buying the VIP gets you these products THREE WEEKS EARLY.  (yay)

Before I tell you any more about the VIP contents, let me show you my card using the new Let's Get Physical set.

When I started this card, I thought of running outdoors, so I went for the earthy Origins Basic Grey 6 X 6 paper pad.  Let me start this with a disclaimer that according to this sentiment, I am *not* smart.  LOL  I *need* to be smart... maybe next year?  LOL

She is colored with Copic markers.  I added a strip of Striped Twill ribbon and tied it into a knotted bow.  Then I started cutting away ribbon... and more ribbon... and more ribbon... until I was left with a little nub-bow.  But sometimes a nub is all you need.  You wouldn't find a huge, pretty bow outdoors would you?  I think not.  Let's go with that...

Here is a peek inside.  I added another sentiment from the set, more Origins patterned paper, and another image included in the set, which I cut out and used an embellishment of sorts.

Here is what you get in the VIP Collection:

Here is a graphic that shows you JUST the Layered Label Die-namics die you'll get with the VIP.  Isn't it COOL?  This thing is BIG.  You'll be able to use it together, separately, as a panel on your card, for sentiments... and MORE.  Might as well indulge and get it now, instead of waiting until January 5th, right?  ;)

Ready to go shopping now?  Click HERE to get your VIP Collection before they are sold out.  There are limited quantities available.

Ready to hop along and see what the rest of the team came up with?  Your next stop on the hop is Michele.  She's always amazing, so you're in for a treat.

See you soon!

You Hold the Key to My Heart

Hi everyone and welcome to day 2 (of 2) of MFT Teaser Time.  Today we are featuring another new à la modes stamp set, Key to My Heart.  It's so cuuuute.  I just love her leg kicked up, and the heart key is divine.  CUTE CUTE.

She is colored in a sweet, pink dress, and I colored the key in a mustardy yellow, to make it look antique(ish).  The scalloped heart was cut using the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics die.  I added a strip of pink gingham ribbon for a little something extra (and let's face it... to use more pink).  The sentiment flag was stitched on it before I added it to the card.

Here are some details about the release this Tuesday:

  • The MFT release is on December 14th at 10 PM EST.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to Kim's blog at 11 AM EST.

Here's to you!

Hello and welcome to day 1 (of 2) of mid-month MFT Teaser Time.  On Tuesday at 10 PM EST, the MFT VIP Collection and 2 new à la modes will be released.

Today the MFT Team is featuring one of the new à la modes stamp sets, Cheers, depicting a champagne-toting girl in an ADORABLE party dress.

I went with a super-light pink to color her dress (Me? Pink? Who would have guessed? lol).  The champagne was colored in pink (is there even pink champagne, I don't know?).  I used a Sakura Glaze Pen on the bubbles.

I finished off the card with a simple (but big) bow made with pink gingham ribbon.

Here are some details about the release this Tuesday night:

  • The MFT release is on December 14th at 10 PM EST.
  • If you'd like to see all the teasers for today, please click on over to Kim's blog at 11 AM EST.

Hello, Cupcake

Hi everyone!  Today's card uses the new Pure Innocence stamp set, Hello Cupcake.  She is so sweet with her over-sized cupcake, with sprinkles on top of course.  Everything is better with sprinkles on it.  At least that is what my ten year old thinks.  :)

She is stamped on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and colored with Copic markers.  I paper pieces her dress with patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy line.  I used a Baby Braddie on her shoe.  The cherry is coated with some pink glitter.  The sentiment flap is stitched on.

I used some wide grosgrain ribbon from SU and some fine lace trim I found in my stash.

Have a sweet day.  :)  See you soon!

Thank You Fairy Much

Thank you fairy much for visiting today.  This card is for all of YOU, who take your time to come visit me each day.  :)  I love hearing from you, and appreciate you stopping by.  :)

My card today uses Pure Innocence Tweeny Teen You Give Me Wings, a super sweet little fairy image.  THIS is the kind of fairy image I can use with ease.  :)

She is stamped on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and colored with Copic markers.  I airbrushed all around her to color the paper to match the patterned paper (vanilla instead of white).  I am not a fan of coloring on vanilla paper, so I usually do this instead.

I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to her wings.  The flowers were cut using my Flower Trio Die-namics die out of white card stock.  Then, I colored them with Copic markers to match her outfit.  The leaves were cut with my Leaf Trio Die-namics die out of My Favorite Felt.  I added some fun Striped Twill ribbon, stitching, vanilla brads, and a sentiment "tag" to finish it off.

See you tomorrow, cupcake.  That was a hint by the way.  *wink*

All you need in life...

Hi everyone!  I am lying on the pink nice and thick today with this card using the new MFT Pure Innocence stamp set A Box of Love.  The girl is adorable.  Aren't they all?  They make me coo.  That is always a good sign.  LOL

She is stamped on X-Press It Blending Card Stock, which I love.  Tons of layers in pink with stripes, dots, and hearts were on the menu for this card.  Then when I was done with the paper choices, of course I reached for even more pink in the form of wide grosgrain ribbon from Stampin Up, a pink button from PTI, pink twine from TCP, and a heart cut from MORE pink paper using the Hearts a Plenty Die-namics die.  Unless you're into pink, you're probably gagging right now.  Sorry about that.  LOL

Here is a pink peek inside.  I added the lid for the box (which I cut off of the image in the stamp set) and a sentiment that is included with the stamp set.  Isn't it the truth?  LOL

More "cute" coming your way tomorrow.  See you then!

Have a Beautiful Day

Today I am going to get negative... with my die-cuts.  LOL  Yesterday, I created a card with a black, die-cut, silhouette flower from the new Flower Silhouette stamp set and Die-namics die.  Today's card uses the "negative" portion of that die-cut.  What is a negative die-cut you ask?  It's what you are left with after you have die-cut a shape out of card stock.  If you cut it out of a piece of paper carefully, and center it as you cut (or not... whatever), you are left with a usable piece of paper with a "window" cut out of it that you can then use on a card.  So, when die-cutting, it's GOOD to be negative.  Let's make that a rule.  ;)  Challenge yourself to use what you previously considered trash.  Like I did for this card.  The "negative" piece of paper was sitting on my desk and I thought it would be cool to add a piece of patterned paper to the back-side.

I adhered the checkered patterned paper to the backside of the paper and then matted it on a piece of sage card stock and stitched around the perimeter with vanilla thread to give the black a bit of POP.  I layered the sentiment over the stem of the flower and popped it up on dimensionals.

I used some of the same October Afternoon patterned paper I used yesterday, but this time I added some fun "vintage" ribbon.  The gingham ribbon was black and white, but I used my Copic E51 to dye it to match.  Love that.

I added a row of pierced holes along the bottom because it needed something there.  I didn't use a template.  I just pierced inside each square as to not throw off the checkered pattern (hello OCD).

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow with a Pure Innocence card.  I'm goin' back to cutesy.  I couldn't stay away THAT long.  I need to coo ya know?

A real friend...

I am taking a little break from "cute" today, and have gone elegant.  Alert the media.  LOL  I used the brand new Flower Silhouette stamp set and Die-namics die from MFT.

The sentiment reads:

A real friend is not one
who only entertains you
but one who cares about you,
one who will be there when you cry.

I love that.  SO sweet and caring.  :)  And true!

I die-cut the flower out of black card stock to make a true silhouette looking flower.  I layered it over some October Afternoon patterned paper.  The new Die-namics Dainty Dots die is PERFECT for "anchoring" the row of 4 mm vanilla Swarovski crystals (Michaels).

The card was finished off with some lace from Girl's Paperie and some vanilla brads.

Stay tuned tomorrow for this card's sister.  She is elegant too... :)  I also show you what I did with the "negative" part of the die-cut I used on this card.  Multitasking... it's what I do.  LOL

See you tomorrow.

Flower Power

Hi everyone and welcome to this month's edition of MFT''s Greatest Hits.  This month we are featuring the à la modes line of stamps.  The à la modes are cling RUBBER, and cute as pie.  The design team will be showing you some of their favorites from the line, so be sure to check Kim's blog at 11 AM EST for the complete, linked listed of participants.  Until then, feast your eyes on this bold and bright (shocker) creation from me:

There are a couple things worth mentioning about this card:
  1. I didn't use any patterned paper on this card (unless you count a "scratchy" piece of paper from a 6 X 6 pad in solid yellow).
  2. I used an embossing folder on this card.  My embossing folders have been collecting dust, so I am happy I found a use for one.
  3. I used a Swarovski crystal flower charm on this card.  My daughter, Madeline, commented that $5 for 5 charms is WAY too much to spend... LOL (why is she looking at the price tag, anyway? LOL)  Silly girl... I got them on sale (1/2 off) and plus... Swarovski crystals are ALWAYS worth it.
  4. 3 of the 4 bulbs for my light box are burnt out.  Sorry for the bad pic(s).  I need to go buy some replacements, but every time I go to the store, I forget about them.  Perhaps I should try the age-old "pin the note on my shirt" method?

For my card I used MFT's à la mode stamp set, Groovy Girl.  I also used the yummy gingham ribbon that I love.  :)

Princess Emma

Here is a little something I whipped up for Kim's daughter, Emma.  She is the princess of the house, and what princess doesn't want her very own Princess Castle mini album?  These are brand new from MFT.  The pieces are laser-cut from chipboard, and are perfect for altering however you want to.

I decided to dress mine up with a combination of My Mind's Eye patterned paper, white acrylic paint, Die-namics and embellishments.

I used the Pure Innocence Love You With All My Heart stamp set.  I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and colored her with Copic markers.  There is a doorway in the album that is perfect for showcasing your favorite little Pure Innocence character.

I used the Banner Day Alphabet and Banner Day Die-namics die to spell out E M M A across the album.  Confession, I have FIVE Banner Day dies, so I only had to crank the dies through three times.  One time per paper.  LOVE that.

I used a sentiment from the Pure Innocence Princess stamp set and adorned it with some 4mm Swarovski crystals.  I also added a row of Rolled Flowers along the bottom of the front cover, that were cut from coordinating patterned paper.

I painted the back-side of all the pages of the book, and then distressed all the pages with random paint strokes all over the place.

Here is the Pure Innocence character mounted on the first page of the album.  I used another sentiment from the Pure Innocence Princess stamp set on it.  This image peeks through perfectly to the front cover.

The rest of the inner pages are covered with patterned paper and distressed with paint.

Here is the inside of the back cover.  Again, it is covered in coordinating patterned paper and distressed with paint.  I added a single Rolled Rose just for fun.  :)

I hope Miss Emma enjoys her album.  :)

Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon!  Only 19 days until Christmas.  Are you as excited as I am?

Dec 5, 2010

Heartfelt Friendship

I fell in love with the Heartfelt stamp set so much, I couldn't put it away.  I had to make another card using the very same patterned papers and colors.  What can I say?  I am creature of habit.  AND I mentioned that I have a lot of Figgy Pudding Basic Grey patterned paper from last year, so I need to use it up.  LOL

I cut a white, felt snowflake using my Let it Snowflake Die-namics die

I rounded the corners of the image panel, which I rarely do.  I was walking on the wild side I guess.  *wink*  OR I was cutting off some red ink that got smudged on the corner... you take a WILD guess which one it was.

She is stamped on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and colored with Copic markers.  I added Sparkly Fluff to her mittens, scarf, and pom poms on her hat.  The sentiment was stitched on.

I stamped a sentiment from the set on my Framed Greetings die-cut and added a matching strip of patterned paper to the inside as well.

See you tomorrow!  I hope you had a great weekend.

Dec 4, 2010

Inspired by Love

I stepped outside of my "box" today to create this card using the newly released MFT Inspired by Love stamp set.  The Love sentiment was stamped in Brilliance black ink and embossed clear.  The background musical notes stamp was stamped in pink chalk ink, as was the ornate heart.  I kept it pink with pink brads, pink corduroy brads, pink satin ribbon, and pink gingham ribbon.  That's a LOT of pink.  Even for me.  LOL

Thanks for stopping by.  I'll see you tomorrow.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Dec 3, 2010

Love

Hi everyone!  Thank goodness it's Friday!  :)  I hope you have some fun plans for the weekend.

I guess I was feeling mellow when I made this card, because it uses such light colors.  I'm sitting here looking at this card, partially feeling like I didn't make it.  LOL  It uses the newly released MFT Clearly Sentimental about Love stamp set (which you can earn for free with a purchase), and Textile Rectangle Die-namics die.  I stamped the sentiment on some wild patterned paper and embossed in clear.

I used cream Striped Twill ribbon.  I figured there were so many patterns going on... why not add another.  LOL

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you tomorrow.  HUGS!
