Make It Masculine

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today!  The MFT Design Team has been challenged to Make It Masculine for the monthly Creative Challenge.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the team came up with HERE on the MFT Blog

I was inspired by a project Barbara created a while back and she shared a "kit" with me, so I was able to recreate it to make a Father's Day Gift for my dad (with a coordinating card).  Thanks, Barbara.  :)

I went with a bright color combo and added what seemed like a zillion layers of paint and texture to the frame.

I painted the frame with several colors of paint and then added texture with the Chicken Wire Stencil and Molding Paste.  Each component was stamped with a variety of stamp sets (all listed below in the inlinkz block).

I rubbed Inka Gold on the keys so they matched the hardware used for the "key hooks".

I included a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Fathers.

I also made a coordinating card with many of the same materials and techniques.

Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team came up with for this fun challenge.

have a sun-sational day

Hello there and thank you for stopping by today.   I am back for day 5 of MFT Teaser Time.  Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog for full set and die reveals for the day.

I had SUCH a fun time stamping for today's teasers!  I channeled my newfound Floridian roots to create this mixed media canvas using the new Palm Tree Die-namics (and a bunch of other stuff lol).

The sentiment is from the new Doodle Garden stamp set, Aloha.  It was stamped on Kraft Card Stock and Accent It - Labels and Tabs.  I cut the sentiment to make it easier to use on the two different pieces.  I randomly stamped the Distressed Background Blocks on the canvas.

I cut the Sunshine Die-namics from Lemon Drop Card Stock.  On the back layer, I rubbed it with Inka Gold.  On the front layer, I added a layer of molding paste, rubbed it with Inka Gold, then used my paper piercer to poke a bunch of holes in it.  I like the added texture.

The Palm Tree was cut from Kraft and colored using Gelatos.  I sprayed Sheer Shimmer Mist over the whole canvas at a couple points during the process.

I brought in more texture with crinkled tissue paper and surgical gauze (thanks Mona).  There are MANY layers of paint on this thing.  I'd mess up, paint over it, and repeat... about a million times.  LOL

I added some Sandy beach" using corrugated cardboard.  I added a layer of gesso on it, then Mod Podge.  Then, I sprinkled some Rock Candy Clear Glitter on it.

I added some more texture with the Graduated Hexagons Stencil and Molding Paste that was colored silver with some paint.

I created this simple(ish) card using the new Sun Ray Die-namics.

I added a ring of Swarovski crystals in a golden yellow color to accentuate the sun.

The background piece was made in a Copic Workshop and I have been saving it for *just* the right card!  It was created using Copic refills, glossy paper, and a paper towel for texture.  I think it looks like a beautiful sunset.

Inside, I added a yellow sun with a sentiment from Aloha.
