You Are My Sunshine

Hello ladies!  It's time for the monthly MFT Blog Hop & Shop.  If you've just happened upon the hop, be sure to start at Kim's blog so you don't miss any of the awesome creations.

All of the new products we have shown over the past 5 days are available NOW in the MFT Boutique.

I used the brand new set, The Great Outdoors, which was designed to work with many of the Die-namics dies with an outdoor theme (grass, clouds, flowers, sun, kite, etc).  I also used the brand new Fly a Kite Die-namics die which I LOVE!  It's SO fun.

I used the Fly a Kite Die-namics die to create 2 "pieced" kites.  I added the kite bow-ties under each one, and used a 4 mm Swarovski crystal in the center.  The kite tail was glued down on the card stock in a loopy fashion.  I wanted it to be a "lovey dovey" card, so I added a small heart to the center of each kite, and chose the sentiment, You Are My Sunshine.  Playing off the sentiment, I also added a sun using the Die-namics Sunshine die.

I placed 3 mm Swarovski crystals around the outside of the sun center.

Want to see how the kite is made?

Die-cut the pieces with the Fly a Kite Die-namics die.  You can make a patchwork kite with 4 different patterns as shown here, or use all the same pattern, or even mix it up some other way.  The sky's the limit (cheesy pun alert).

Adhere the pieces of the kite.  I used a Quickie Glue pen.  You could also use a Xyron, or any glue.  I used the green sticky thing to help me place the pieces.  I recommend starting with the top pieces and then adding the lower pieces.  It's easier to keep it all straight that way.

Here is my kite, all done.  Now just add the tail of your choice and add the bow-ties if you want to.  They were designed to accommodate a 4 mm crystal in the center circle part.

Isn't it CUTE?  Love it!  Who's ready to create a kite?

It's time for you to hop along now.  You're off to the very talented, Jessie.  Be sure to leave her some love.  ;)

See you soon!  Thanks for stopping by!  See you in a few short hours for Wednesday Stamp Club!
