MFT DT Creative Challenge - Vintage

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today!  As always, I appreciate you taking the time to read my  blog and post comments when you have the time.  I do enjoy your "company".  :)

The MFT Design Team has been challenged to go vintage.  *GASP*  For me, that is a step or two outside of my comfort zone, but not completely foreign to me.  My definition of vintage is: distressed and elegant, so I tried to achieve that with my card.  :)

I chose to go with a cream based patterned paper to set the vintage tone.  Stark white just doesn't scream vintage (to me at least LOL).  That set the tone for the rest of the card stock, embellishments, and stamps.

I reached for the new Christmas Ornaments Die-namics and Stamp Set.  I went for a "vintage Christmas ornament" feel.  I added a copper topper (poetic isn't it?) to each, and finished them off with a holly leaf and copper tiny brad.  Each ornament was adorned with a Swarovski crystal in a cream color.  I added an elegant sentiment from the Inspired by Christmas stamp set.

I found some "rope" in my ribbon stash (Stampin' Up) and strung it through my tag (from Tag, You're It), and unraveled it to add to the vintage feel.  You can also see here, that I distressed the edges of the tag with my Tonic paper distresser.

For the final touch, I curled up and bent some of the edges of my patterned paper.

I finished off the inside too, which while decidedly LESS vintage than the front of the card, has a few touches, like the elegant sentiment, and the same ornament style carried over from the front of the card.
