Surf's Up MFT VIP - Limited Quantity

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today!  The new MFT VIP Collection, Surf's Up is available right now, right HERE.  There are a very limited number available so shop soon!  The collection includes 2 Brand Spankin' New Pure Innocence cuties, as well as 2 new Die-namics dies that I am LOVING.  :)

You can check out what the rest of the design team created with the Surf's Up VIP Collection, HERE, on the MFT Blog.

I opted for some bold summer colors for both of my cards today.  First up, Surf Chick.  She is super cute!  I opted to leave plenty of white space around the card and on the focal image.  I choose some bright, cheery patterned paper.

The sentiment was stamped on one of the Sentiment Strips, which I am going to LOVE using on my cards.  I just love having perfect little "perches" for sentiments.  I added the word "Beach" to the tiniest tag from the Traditional Tag STAX.  I have one little "dish" that I keep all my tiny tags in.  When I need one, I just cut them all and leave the die-cuts on my desk so I have options when I am stamping and don't have to get a up a zillion times to die-cut small pieces.

I used the new Jumbo Squiggle Border as waves.  They line up so perfectly and it's a different look than a traditional wave.

I used plenty of color for her skin.  She is a sun-kissed beach baby after all.  *wink*.  I used: E50, E51, E21, and E33.  Her cheeks were blushed with red chalk.  Her wetsuit was colored with Prismacolor Pencils.  I really like coloring in a hybrid style sometimes.  I use what works for each image whether it's all Copic, all Prismacolor pencils, or a mix.

I made a "scene" with Surfer Dude using Flat-Bottom Clouds, Sunshine, and Jumbo Squiggle Border.  He was "fussy cut" (cut along all the stamped lines) and adhered with black dimensionals.  The sentiment, again, was stamped on one of the Sentiment Strips.  (Have I mentioned I am loving those things?)  The entire scene was placed on a layered circle piece cut with Circle STAX Set 1 and 2.  I strayed from patterned paper on this one, opting instead to use card stock and an embossing folder.

He was colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I added some darker shadows with a BV Copic on his face to the left.  The ribbon is Sweet Tooth and I created a "flat-ish" bow with hot glue (just folded the pieces and glued instead of actually tying a bow).

I finished off the inside with a mini-scene and a follow-up sentiment.
