Dandelion Wishes

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today.  I am back for day 2 of MFT Teaser Time and I am SUPER excited to share my cards made with stamps from a NEW illustrator, Mona Pendleton.  Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog for full set and die reveals for the day.

I made a soft mixed media card that has more "depth" than meets the eye.  I started with Smooth White Card Stock, which I primed with gesso.  I stamped the Distressed Background Blocks on it.  Then, I added another layer of gesso to soften the impact.  The flower was then stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to set the ink (which doesn't dry well on gesso).  After the embossing powder dried, I sanded it off so I had a soft, matte finish.

I added a rectangle of pierced holes in lieu of matting the image or adding another layer.  I wanted my "art" to remain uncovered as much as possible.  The sentiment was stamped on a Kraft Fishtail Flag with Hot Fudge ink and I added a simple Kraft Button.  I sponged all the edges with Kraft ink.

You can buy this stamp set and any of the new products on May 7 at 10 PM EST.  Be sure to check the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with today.
