it's a Good DAY

Hi all and thanks for stopping by today. Today is day 6 of MFT Teaser Time.  Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog for full set and die reveals for the day.

I let the sentiment guide the color combo when I made this bright "golden" card.  Lemon Drop is just a HAPPY color.  :) The sentiment is part of the Chalkboard Greetings stamp set.  I stamped it in Hot Fudge ink on Smooth White Card Stock.  I REALLY love how smooth that paper is.  I have been using it like CRAZY!

The frame was made with the Chalkboard Frame Builder out of Kraft Card Stock.

The frame was stamped with my Delicata Golden Glitz ink pad.

I added an ADORABLE piece of washit tape, which was created with the new stamp set, Washi Patterns in Hot Fudge ink AND the new Washi Tape Die-namics dies.  I just love being able to make washi tape to match the colors on my card.

I cut a segment of arrows from my Mod Borders stamp set and stamped it along the top of the sentiment.  I stamped again on a scrap piece of paper and adhered one triangle over the strip to add a tiny bit of dimension and interest.  Look at the SOLID coverage using Lemon Drop ink and Smooth White Card Stock!

Here is another card I made using the Chalkboard Frame Builder and the same sentiment from Chalkboard Greetings, but this time with some mixed media flair.

The sentiment was stamped in Ranger black ink (waterproof) and then I painted a thin layer of gesso over it to soften the black.  I used the Graduated Hexagons Stencil to add some texture using molding paste mixed with gold paint.  Then when it was dry, I rubbed over each hexagon with Inka Gold. I used a light pink gelato over the sentiment to add some pink tint to tie in the rolled flowers.

I added some Leaf-Filled Flourishes cut from corrugated cardboard.  The roses were rolled using Paver Red and Pink Lemonade Card Stocks ( Mini Royal Roses, Mini Rolled Roses, Layered Rose). The flowers were painted with some gesso, then Mod Podge, then dusted with Tim Holtz Clear Glitter.

The frame was cut from Kraft and then I rubbed it with Inka Gold.  That stuff is really cool!  :)   I sprayed the flowers, flourishes, and black card stock with Sheer Shimmer MIX-ables Mist.  I love that stuff!

You can buy this stamp set and any of the new products on June 11 at 10 PM EST.  Be sure to check the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with today.
