Limited Supply Challenge

On SCS (link to the right), there is a limited supply challenge posted weekly. The challenge for this week is to use ribbon scraps. This is slightly funny to me because the name of the challenge implies that one would have a limited supply of ribbon... or would that be a limited supply of ribbon scrap??? At any rate, we all know I have a limited supply of NEITHER of the aforementioned. LMBO! It was a no brainer that I would have to come up with a card for the challenge and in no time at all I had this card. :) OOOhhhh ribbon makes me happy!

I used Basic Grey's Urban Couture line which has been neglected since Blush came out. LOL The sentiment is once again the wonderful new sentiment from A Muse's spring release. I just loooove it. It reads:

  • A true friend is the greatest of all blessings.

Awwwwwwww isn't that the truth? :)

The sentiment is stamped on a celery layer. The chocolate layer is stamped using Celery craft ink and sponged with chocolate chip dye ink. Then I punched the center with a Marvy scalloped square punch (mega size). The Chocolate frame is mounted using dimensional foam lines so that the sentiment is actually in a "lifted frame". To incorporate the scraps of ribbon, I punched out 5 holes using my horizontal slot punch from Stampin' Up and then taped a small piece of ribbon on the backside of the card. I cut the ribbon in a "V" which I rarely do, but I thought it would add more "OOMPH" to the card. I also tied a small piece of polka dot organdy to a piece of hardware on the frame. The entire frame is then mounted on dimensionals to the top layer of the card base.

I have more new toys and am hoping to stamp some more tonight. :) YAY

Have a wonderful day!
