Chocolate Ice Cream Ensemble

This is a little set I made! My goal was to use the super cute "tub" of "ice cream lip gloss" I found at Cracker Barrel. Isn't it ADORABLE! I let the flavor of the ice cream inspire me and decided to go with a monochromatic brown color scheme. The image is from a set called What's the Scoop from MFT. I LOVE this set. It is SO adorable! The image was colored with Copic markers. I stitched a couple panels together.

The card is finished off with some PTI brown twill ribbon and a fun flower embellishment. I started with a Heidi Swapp ghost shape flower. Then, I stacked this awesome wooden brad/button on it WITH a copper decorative brad placed in the holes of the button. Susan Liles (susiestampalot) sent me a package of the wooden brads and I am HOARDING them! This is only the 2nd of 5 that I have used. I wish I could find more somewhere! I just love them! :)

I made the little basket/box to house the lip gloss. I was winging it, so I don't have a pattern. I started with a piece 4 1/2 X 5 3/4 scored at 1 1/2 and 3 on one side and 1 3/4 and 3 1/2 on the other side, but I trimmed off a bit here and there as I went, so I'm not sure exactly where it ended up. :) I made the handles out of the SU round tag punch and cut slits in them with the horizontal slot punch. I threaded some PTI twill in the holes and added a punch and molded flowers to cover the ribbon adhesion point. The label was stamped in palette burnt umber and the ice cream scoop was stamped in creamy caramel and colored in with a Copic marker.

Stamps: Here's the Scoop MFT
Paper: dark chocolate PTI, caramel, PTI white
Ink: palette burnt umber
Accessories: heidi swapp clear flower, wooden brad/button, copper brads, copper decorative brad, PTI ribbon, Janome sewing machine, black dimensional boosters, round tab punch, key tag punch, horizontal slot punch, flower punch, red line tape

  30. So I eyed this project a while ago and then looked to see how much those lip glosses were and I was like, "Nahhh too pricey." What do I find at a yard sale today...6 of them in a pack...unopened for $2! i AM SO MAKING THEM. I will link back to you when I finish. Thanks for the inspiration.
