Book Store Gift Card Holder-Blooming Flopsey

*New STICKY SALE coming on October 15th! Check out the FOUR NEW sticky products!

I introduced this blooming Flopsey to you a couple months ago HERE, but I wasn't able to show you the INSIDE of the tin because that set wasn't available yet... but now it is, so I wanted to show you the whole project this time. :)

I made this with the intention of using it as a book store gift card holder. This could be used for a teacher, student or anyone who enjoys books. I am blessed with kids who love to read, so this will make a great gift for one of them. My 14 year old enjoy science fiction, my 11 year old enjoys scary novels (scary for a 5th grader anyway) and my 8 year old will read anything.

To make this project I started with a nugget tin. You can purchase nugget tins from various retailers, but I buy mine straight from the source and save a ton of money! :) Here is where I get mine: Specialty Bottle .

I cut a piece of card stock large enough to fit in the bottom of the tin, then I added a flap that I adhered my Reading Flopsey image to. The gift card will fit under the Reading Flopsey image. I cut a piece of patterned paper and used it to make a band around the tin. I created the scalloped circle "bloom" using 4 Nestabilities scalloped circles and slit between each one. I used my finger to mold the flowers so they popped up. To make it even MORE dimensional, I used a 1 inch red line dimensional booster between each layer of the flower. I finished it off with another Flopsey image from "What's the Story?".

To punch a circle of card stock while leaving Flopsey's ears intact, slip the image into the punch you would like to use and center it as desired. Then use a paper piercer to mark the area to the left and right of the ears that the circle will begin. Now, trim around the ears to that point. After that, slip your card stock back in the punch, but pull the ears through the opening. Now, you can punch a circle while leaving the ears popping out.

Ink: Black Memento

Paper: PTI white, brown, Cosmo Cricket Gretel (I think lol)

Accessories: circle punches, word window punch, copic markers, dimensional boosters, paper piercer and piercing pad, nugget tin

  4. Thanks for the directions and how not to cut his ears off and all! Love the Flopsy Rabbit. Love the beautiful flower also. Like that you told us about the spacers in between for the heighth adjustment thing. (You know what I mean.)
I'm glad you had a nice little vacation to the game and shoebox exchange and all.
Welcome home to the laundry!! LOL Seems like it's more work getting ready to go and getting home again...
