Love is Sweet

Disclaimer: I am hooked on Basic Grey Bittersweet paper right now. I only have 2, 6 X 6 pads, so I WILL run out... eventually. LOL The next several blog posts will contain Bittersweet paper. I apologize in advance and hope you like pink and brown! LOL

This is a card I made with Taylored Expressions, Love is Sweet stamp set. I think the little cupcake is just too cute! :)

This card was made for the TE Cupcake Challenge 51. To view the sketch, click HERE.

The 3 heart image is stamped in Versamark on the Pretty in Pink layer. The cuppie image is stamped in Memento brown on Gina K pure luxury 120 lb white and colored with Copic markers. I stitched all of the layers with my trusty Janome and added lots of silver brads.
Jody Rules for this card:
  • When matting layers of your card, be consistent with the color you are matting with. In this card, all my layers are matted with chocolate chip card stock. Sometimes, matting with different colors causes your eye to be drawn to the mat instead of the image. Of course there ARE exceptions to every rule, but *generally* I do follow this rule. :) It will help to keep your focal point... focal!
  • When you brad... it will stick out a tad! LMBO I HAD to make that rhyme... sorry... it's late and I am easily entertained. :) When you stick brads through the layers of your card, it will cause a bump on the back. Even if you take the time to flatten the prongs well, it is still a slight bump. When adhering your card stock layers together, they may pull apart if you do not use a strong adhesive. I generally pop up a layer on dimensionals if it has been bradded. On this card, every layer is bradded. I adhered the base layer to the card base with RED LINE adhesive to ensure that it stuck well. Then the other two layers are popped up with red line dimensionals. This will prevent the brad prongs from pushing against the card stock and making my layers fall apart. I don't mind chubby cards. :) It only costs about $.21 extra and I really like the dimension.

Stamps: TE Love is Sweet
Ink: Versamark, Memento brown
Paper: Gina K white, chocolate chip, pretty in pink, Basic Grey Bittersweet
Accessories: silver brads in 2 sizes, Copic markers, Janome sewing machine, red line dimensionals, red line tape, Heidi Swapp ghost shape hearts

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
