This is an altered mini clipboard I made with the soon-to-be-released Annie LaPoint image: Plant Seeds of Love.

Now, sometimes when I show my girls a project I have made, I get the high pitched cooing like: "awwwwwwwww, Mommy that is SO awesome, I looooooooooooove it!"  Today though, that was NOT the case.  LOL
Here is my daughter Bailey's review:

  • It has too much stuff on it

  • The stuff on it doesn't really match

  • I don't like the button it (the brad in the hole of the clipboard)

  • How is someone supposed to use the clip board with all that stuff on it (it is supposed to be hung on a wall)
My husband's review (after asking for a second opinion)

  • It's nice

  • (then I tell him what Bailey said, to which he responded... I agree)

  • I then explain that it is actually a wall hanging and he says: I don't know about that
So there you have it... it was twice rejected by my family members, but I kinda like it.  It is not my "usual" style, it isn't something that I think is really "me"... yet I kinda like it... well I did until I was rejected.  So, what do YOU think?  I *guess* you can be honest.  LOL  I *think* I can take it.  LMAO
Here are some close ups to help you make up your mind:
Stamps: MFT Annie LaPoint Plant Seeds of Love
Ink: Memento black
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, Black, White
Accessories: SU ribbon, SU brad, Swarovski crystals, SU die cut with chipboard, silver brads, copic markers, crystal effects, micro beads, red line dimensionals, crackle paint, red line tape, bow maker thingy
Here is my vintage-inspired LOVE card.  This card is all about my LOVING friends!  They REALLY spoiled me on my birthday!  :)  The October Afternoon paper was purchased with a gift certificate to Stamper's Dream by my super-sweet friend, Carole Burrage.  I looooooove this patterned paper.  (By the way, Michelle from Stamper's Dream is a DREAM to buy from!  She is sweet, helpful and ships FAST!  Go check out her site!)  The lace trim came from my super-talented and sweet friend, Michele Boyer.  She knows I love ribbon/trims and spoiled me with about 10 different ones!  YAY!  The crocheted flower came from my super-sassy and fun friend Mary Rager, who sent me the mother-load of pink embellishments and some other stuff too... AND she sent me a Bella gift certificate on top of it.  Can you say SPOILED?  I also got MANY other birthday gifts from many more special friends, but I can only fit so much stuff on one card, KWIM?  LOL  I love you, my friends!  Thank you for making my birthday so special!

The image was stamped on Kraft in Memento brown and colored with Copic markers.  The center of the flowers has some crackly liquid stuff that I cannot recall the name for and am too lazy to go look for.  I think it is by Ranger.  I am sure you know what I am talking about.  LOL  The crocheted flower was colored with Copics (it was white).
Stamps: Plant a Seed of Love
Ink: Memento brown
Paper: kraft, black, October Afternoon patterned paper
Accessories: crackly liquid stuff, crocheted flower, SU brad, Webster's Pages trim, red line dimensionals, EK punch, distress ink (PTI)

  1. I think your altered clip board is gorgeous and will look great hung on the wall.....though not too surprised by your husband's response....think this type of altered art is beyond most husbands!!! Mine would have muttered something like 'lovely, dear'!!

  2. I like it and would hang it on my wall. Sorry to hear they don't like it :)

  3. I REALLY like the clipboard for what it's worth. That should scare you since we have such hugely different taste! LOL I guess I will have to get the copic in the color to dye my stuff from white to ivory now. I can probably handle that much copic useage! Glad to see you enjoying your birthday goodies and not hoarding! Good girl!

  4. I really, really like your altered clipboard. Maybe it is because my favorite color is orange.....but the clipboard was well put together. I especially liked the white ribbon. It is funny because when I looked at all of the things you used to make it I had to look again to find all of the things you used. The button was not my favorite, but everything else was! :0) Pam

  5. I just LOOOOVVVEEE this altered clipboard!!!! It all works so well together even if it is not your "norm" look. It is wonderful.

  6. My first thought was "how is anyone going to write on that?" LMBO! I adore it! I think it's a great thing to hang on the wall! My DH would say the same thing. I also live this little set. It's so special! I'm seeing vintage too!

  7. I think they are both me your family is sometimes your worst critic, especially if they don't understand what you did or why...been there done that lol I think they are both adorable!

  8. I adore your clipboard (your story is a cute one) and I love your vintage stule card. Maybe not your usual style but you do it well.

  9. Ahhh, family rejection, I know it so well! LOL And the "nice" comment, well....I've had talks with my DH about that word before.

I love your little clipboard and of course, knew it wasn't a functional clipboard from the get-go.

  10. I love the mix of embellishments and textures you used on your clip board. I would look great hanging in a office or stamp room! Love the other card too. I need to use kraft more.

  11. I think its very pretty. The only thing I am not sure about is the brad in the hole LOL. I knew it was for decoration right off the bat too. I like the crystal embellis on the swirl too. very nice. The card is fabulous!

  12. I think your clipboard is beautiful. Your family sounds like mine.

  13. I think your clipboard is VERY pretty. (And if it makes you feel any better, I get that "eh"/negative response ALL the time. I've learned that if I'm not too sure about something, just don't ask. lol. LOVE your vintage card too! :) (That's a great layout!)

  14. Well, obviously this GORGEOUSNESS has no place in your home, so it should come to mine, LOL!!

  15. OMGosh Jody I "LOVE" it!!! I love the colors and I love the brad!!!

    Beautiful card too!!!
