You'll always be my daddy...

Hi everyone and welcome to the MFT Blog Hop & Shop. If you are just happening along, please be sure to head to Kim's blog to start at the beginning. You definitely don't want to miss anything! The new sets and Die-namics are available NOW, so HURRY to the MFT Boutique to place your order.

Remember that someone along the hop has hidden BLOG CANDY. Please be sure to leave comments as you go for your chance to win.

My project uses the stamp set, Clearly Sentimental about Fathers. This set will definitely tug at your heart-strings! :) It includes the most BEAUTIFUL sentiments, including the one I used:
  • No matter how old I get, you'll always be my daddy.
My 10 year old often says that to my husband. It is SO sweet. I KNEW I HAD to make him something using pictures of them and the sentiment.

The frame is 11" X 11", so it was hard for me to get a good picture in my tiny light box. LOL This is a shadowbox frame that has a hinged glass portion. The inside of the frame includes linen-looking pockets. I stuck a piece of patterned paper (which I stitched) in each of the pockets and then embellished with some flowers, a hand-made ribbon blossom, ribbon and pictures of my husband with my daughter, Madeline. In this picture she is about 6 years old and has changed so much just in that amount of time. It's amazing how quickly they grow up! *sniff sniff*

I adhered the ribbon with red line tape. The leaves were cut using a SU Sizzlits die.

Have you ever seen a prouder daddy? Awwwwww! These two are like peas in a pod. She'll never stop calling him daddy. I am SURE of it!

I adhered tiny Prima roses along the top to finish it off.

I, being the VERY impatient person that I am, gave it to him right after I finished making it. He smiled... then teared up... then made a concerted effort NOT to allow the tears to escape his eyes... then he smiled again. Real men DO cry... especially when it is because of their sweet daughters!

Ready to hop along? Your next stop on the hop is Amy Sheffer. I'm sure she'll have something for you to DROOL over... and you can take your time there, because she is the last stop on the hop. :)
