Mixed Media Blissful Butterflies

Hi all!  If you've been wishing for MFT Teaser Time to start, you are in luck!  Today marks the start of seven days full of everything NEW.  New stamp sets, Die-namics, inks, and STENCILS.  Watch for all of the full stamp set and die reveals over on the MFT Blog from today through June 11.

I am kicking things off today with a GORGEOUS new stamp set by Lisa Johnson, Blissful Butterflies.  After being inspired by Mona Pendleton, I decided to give this card a mixed media spin.

The Leaf-Filled Flourish was cut from Kraft Card Stock and I rubbed it with Inka Gold Metallic Rub.

I stamped the butterfly in Lemon Drop Premium Dye Ink.

I used the Delicate Doily Stencil and Molding Paste on the background.  The Rolled Rose and Mini Rolled Roses were cut from Smooth White and I added some Rock Candy Glitter to the top for some sparkle.

The butterfly is perched on a Dainty Doily Duo in Natural that has some strokes of gesso and is covered in Mod Podge.

I stamped Art Expression Text in the background and painted over it with yellow and gold paint.

The card base is Smooth White.

You can buy this stamp set and any of the new products on June 11 at 10 PM EST.  Be sure to check the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with today.

  25. Ok you totally fooled me on this one. I like to look at a card and "guess" about what techniques and products have been used. Completely off. Nice job. Never would have guessed the leaf flourish was cut from kraft card stock. Such a lovely card. Lots of amazing details.
