Stylin' with Stencils

Hello all and thank you for stopping by today. Stencils may not get the same recognition as stamps and dies but believe me, they simply can’t be beat in terms of versatility. Their flexibility and durability make them the perfect choice for adding color and texture with any number of mediums and with close to 70 different options in two different sizes available in the MFT shop, you’re sure to find the perfect design for your next project. This month, our team is inspiring you to play with stencils.

I have 2 cards to share with you tonight. Up first is this rockin' card featuring the Equalizer stencil. I sponged gradient color horizontally. Prior to today, I had only sponged vertical rows. I love the look. I added the strip of vellum to break up the card a bit. The sentiment is from Keep on Rockin. I layered three Headphones together and adhered that over the sponged panel.

Up next is this dog house card with a multi-color sponged background. I started by sponging in Kraft. Then, I kept the stencil in place and dabbed the sponge lightly in Chocolate Brown ink, and then sponged lightly on the already-kraft-inked paw prints. I like the added detail it provides.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please stop by the MFT Blog and see what the rest of the team came up with using our amazing stencils.
