Note-Card Box

Oh look! Are you surprised? ANOTHER pink, black and white creation! LOL Sorry for the torture. :) The streak continues and I have a few more to share, so don't be surprised to see a *little* more pink and black before this series is over. :) Tomorrow I will be showing you some treat bags! Guess what color they'll be? *evil grin*

This project uses Lauren's template All Boxed Up.

Again, I do not print these templates on my card stock. I printed it out and mapped out the dimensions for cutting and scoring using a ruler. This one was a bit tricky because of the diagonal cuts on the inner boxes. See the flower that I cut out and popped onto one of the inner pockets? It's a DISGUISE! :) You know... I made one of those ANNOYING mistakes and my diagonal cuts were not symmetrical. I cut out the flower from the patterned paper pack carefully and then adhered it directly over the one beneath to hide the wonky cut. :) I didn't HAVE to tell you that, ya know? LOL Again, if something goes wrong in your paper creating, TRY to hide it and move on. Don't get frustrated and walk away! Many times you can find a fix and you MIGHT even like it better than before! :) I did alter the dimensions of the box a bit. I wanted less of a border around the inner boxes, so I cut down the measurements to allow just a small border.

The cards in this box are VERY simple. Simple embellishments, simple stamping, simple ribbon placement. Sometimes it's ok to be SIMPLE. Especially when you want to make a whole bunch of stuff in one sitting. Oh and by the way... my "one sitting" lasted about 8 hours. LOL Each inner pocket holds 2 cards and 2 stamped envelopes. I added a strap closure to the box to keep everything together. It is held closed with a Basic Grey magnetic snap. Those are a must have! Buy big and small! You never know which size will work best for your project! (This one uses a big set). The strap is BEHIND the patterned paper on the back and closes on the outside of the patterned paper in the front. That will ensure that it is nice and sturdy! You'd be amazed at how sturdy these boxes are when you use quality card stock and add lots of layers. :)
